Well, look around you people. This day of non-work is brought to you by unionized labor. If allowed to have their way, they'll claim all 364 other days of the year.
For me, things couldn't be better. The several hundred million I inherited from my Daddy has been making me millions more. Over the past 5 years, my profits have been higher than ever. There's no shortage of cheap labor abroad, and if things keep going like they have been in Ohio, Wisconsin and Michigan, there'll be cheap labor here too. And you wouldn't believe how hard my workers are working, scared to death to slack off or take a vacation for fear of losing their paycheck. I love it! I don't even have to use Taylorist methods any more; just raw fear works well enough!
For starters, we need to eliminate workers' comp. Too expensive. Next we need to continue chopping public sector jobs -- because look how well that's working! If we were able to close half of the DMV's and cut half of that work force, it might mean longer lines -- maybe even forcing people to take a full day off. That would mean I could hire part-time the chopped off DMV workers to work for my workers who are standing in line at DMV. Just call me another heroic Job Creator!
P.S. Be sure to vote Republican, because they REALLY care about you and that you find a job. REALLY! Trust me!!! Just look at Irene and how the Repubs are bending over backwards to ensure that her victims get govt assistance. The Repubs REALLY care about you. Honest!!!

Leland, please help out those poor, rich liberals on the east coast who just lost their beach mansions. Or, maybe FEMA can bail these folks out, so they can build in the path of destruction once again, just like New Orleans residents who live below sea level. Yes, let's reward their bad decisions......

Yes, Steeve is so right about everything. To think of all those dumb Vermonters, building inland the way they did whilst knowing full well a hurricaine was probably due within the next couple of centuries. The dummies. They'd have been better off building on earthquake or wildfire sites.

Geez, another Dana comment, or better yet, copy & paste. No original thought.
Tonight, I tried watching Laura Ingraham covering for O'Rielly. She asked Alan Colmes for his viewpoint on the Labor Day speeches. But, just a few seconds into his comments, she jumps on him. Then Monica Crowley starts shouting.
To his discredit, he got sucked into it.
Hey, Dana, you Laura and Monica are nothing more than modern day Brown Shirts. Don't like what you are hearing, then shout even higher.
So, "Bring it on. We're not backing down"... Got Anger-Management Problems?

The full quote: HOFFA: "Everybody here's got to vote. If we go back and keep the eye on the prize, let's take these son of a bitches out and give America back to America where we belong! Thank you very much!"
Fascist Fox News commentators have been running the quote without contextualizing it, without mentioning the stress upon the vote. Hoffa is clearly talking about THE VOTE.
Compare Hoffa's attempt to rally the crowd to vote with the Sarah Palen-Right-Wing-Militia garbage about being "locked and loaded" along the border. No comparison.
Hoffa's is an attempt to rally a crowd via electoral process; Palen and others at Fox News are about inciting violent fascist sentiment. Dana the Dunce eats it up: "Bring it on!" The only thing worth bringing to you, Dana, is someone to take your sheeted hood off.
