Impact for America, part of a national ministries group, will hold a special event Sunday, Sept. 11 at the Alameda County Fairgrounds to pay tribute to those who lost their lives in the 911 terrorist attacks and to honor Americans killed in Iraq and Afghanistan.

I have a hunch that this is gonna be like a MARJO money making show! The good preacher out to make bucks, secure pledges, talk about Jesus, and split asap.
Consider hanging onto your money and not giving the good preacher one cent! Think about it. The money is going to leave Pleasanton, most of it going into his account and not remaining in Pleasanton.
Think about keeping the money in Pleasanton. Donate the money to a local charity, your own church, help out a friend in need.
Donating money to an organization that is using the horror of 911 to pick up bucks has nothing to do with helping neighbors or residents in need. The money will leave the local economy and only earn interest for the good preacher. Consider a new way to put your hard earned money to better local use...just sayin...

Sounds like a typical Evangelical Right-Wing scam. I bet the Tea Party will be there in full force. There are much better ways to honor and support the victims of 9/11 than this event.

Please view "IMPACT FOR AMERICA" website and you will find that admission is FREE from 12:00 to 7:00pm, how do you profit from that?
I am so glad that this event is taking place as we look pale on the west coast compared to the east coast on 9/11 events. This is to remember and give tribute to those who gave there lives on that tragic day. I urge every one in the Bay Area to attend.

The FUNDY event will include "rides and attractions", adding to the circus atmosphere to commemorate the traumatic murders of American Citizens...what a crock!
Your country, right or wrong is also all about promoting the Home Painting business of Bryan Ferrell and your own Tea Party activities.
If you want to appear less "pale", consider helping out others in need. But then, how would that benefit your Tea Party?

A big Thank You to Cholo for having exposed the charade. I googled Impact for America. Nada. The whole thing is set up to squeeze donations for the tea party and the wretched 8 year-old mentalities that support it. The 'Warriors Watch Riders' will be accompanied by lots of patriots waving pirate flags and riding their bicycles with baseball cards clicking in their spokes. Free skull and crossbones wash-off tattoos will be given to those who buy an American flag for $20.

How can the tea partiers be at this event? Won't they be showing up at the funerals of the latest soldiers killed in the war? You know, those tea party scumballs who shout out "murderer" and worse to the families who are burying their dead?
Too bad a few snipers are not around at those funerals to put some teabaggers out of their misery once and for all.
This event sounds like a money grab for the wrong people and the wrong reason. As someone who lost friends and co-workers on 911 I plan to be a couple thousand miles away from this thing.

To the poster above: You are way out of line. The Tea Party does not show up at funerals and shout "murder" or any other such nonsense. You are somehow confusing the Tea Party with the sick Reverend Phelps and his followers. The Tea Party never has, and never will, do any such thing.
Some of you people have a screw loose. Something with free admission and you're talking about the Tea Party making money?? A veteran writes something to correct your bad information and you glaze right over it and ignore it. What is wrong with you?

Yep, you've got it, Cholo. You've uncovered a perfect example of Tea Party 'Freedom'. I'll give you "free" admission; just pay 10 bucks for parking. I'll give you "free" returns on your tax forms; just bust the following unions. I've got 50 dollars for you FREE! All you have to do is man this booth and collect signatures for repeal of 1st Amendment rights.

During tributes, some people come together...and some people try to tear apart. It's sad but unavoidable in the age of public ranting.
The fairgrounds tribute is actually for people to come together on a day in history when we grieved as one. The spirit of the event is to connect the 9-11 tragedy to those who are still paying the price - in a way that reflects resilience, strength, hope and appreciation. The 12 - 7 pm event is free (the fairgrounds charge $8.00 for parking - which does not go to the event planners and hosts). At 7 pm, a ticketed evening concert and program is planned for those who wish to attend. Sponsers can even purchase tickets to go to servicemembers and veterans in honor of their sacrifices for America.
This is a non-political event. It will be a day of remembrance, togetherness and goodwill for those who choose to come together.

Still waiting on parking? I am not going but if you have to pay for paring to get into a free event-that is bullshit. I plan on parking my boat and RV on the street in front of my house that day so no weird religious person can park there.

IN YOUR VISION OF THE WORLD IS THE REFLECTION OF YOURSELF. It sounds like some of these commentors are in a whole lot of pain - that they can't even admit to themselves - and it pours out in ignorance, hostility and ugliness. Very sad.

Then why is being planned and arranged by prominent tea party members and evangelicals, with whom many of us have strong disagreements? We would like to know what our money is supporting.
This is not a "non-political event". I would advise people to steer clear.
