Brown-Out in Plesanton?

Original post made by Michael on Jul 27, 2011

We live in the Fairlands neighborhood. My neighbor and I experienced what we believe was a PG&E brown-out.

Did anyone experience a brown out that possibly occured on Thursday, July 21. It was weird, in the kitchen, the stove clock was out and the microwave clock was with the correct time.

In addition, the brown-out appears to have blown my router and also one of my home computer.

I would like to know if anyone around town experienced this problem.

Did anybody in your neighborhood have an elec car plugged in at the time. If they are plugged in, it can cause a blackout in your substation. Elec cars are ONLY suppose to be plugged in DURING the night,....even if it doesn't cause a blackout, it puts all the neighbors into a TIER 4 RATE at that moment, which is three and 1/2 times greater cost! ! Your Smartie will tell you to turn off your air to save money ! WHY should you HAVE to, when it's the car that is CAUSING the LOAD ??? Fight it. pg&e just better figure HOW to SUPPLY us before another car is sold. The anti-oil, anti-clean nuclear, anti-natural gas, the anti crowd mistakenly pushed elec cars...before they got the POWER provided...somebody better get that fixed ! NOW!
