Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (movie)... not consistent with the book...
Books & Movies, posted by Harry Potter Fans, a resident of the Ruby Hill neighborhood, on Jul 14, 2007 at 1:09 am

My 17 year old owns all the Harry Potter books/movies and viewed and read them all several times. Over the last few weekends she re-read the book Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and when she got home, she stated the movie left alot of the book out. I was disappointed to hear this because I was considering seeing this at the theatre instead of waiting for it to come out on DVD.

Any similar opinions on the latest Harry Potter movie (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix)? Looking for more feedback. Thanks!

Well, duh - otherwise it would be 12 hours long!

Yes, it's an 850 page book. The Lord of the Rings isn't much longer and it's an 11 hour story. I do wish HP5 would have been a 3 hour movie instead of less than 2 1/2. It felt compressed, and I enjoy the more leisurely pace of the first few movies.

well i absolutely loved this film. I can understand why some may feel that it was not very loyal to the book, but it kept all of the major and most important aspects of the novel. When a movie is too long, it can get tedious so i think they did a great job in putting a nealry-1000-page book into a 2 hr movie.
