Gingrich’s Uncertain Future
Original post made by Cindy Cross on Jun 10, 2011
Newt Gingrich's top tier of his presidential campaign team resigned today. Rick Tyler, Gingrich's former spokesman cited, "a difference of opinion on how to move forward."
Left with no solid campaign team, will Gingrich call it quits on running for president? It appears the answer is "no" when reading his statement: "I am committed to running the substantive, solutions-oriented campaign I set out to run earlier this spring. The campaign begins anew Sunday in Los Angeles." Hopefully Sarah Palin's magical mystery tour won't show up in LA to steal his thunder.
We all know about Gingrich's thunder. He unleashed it recently with harsh criticism of the GOP plan developed by Congressman Paul Ryan to reform Medicare. Gingrich called Paul Ryan's Medicare reform "right-wing social engineering."
Gingrich, former Speaker of the House, hasn't been in Congress since 1999. His most recent job was political commentator for Fox News. Gingrich doesn't hold back when expressing his true feelingsnot a great quality for a president.
Gingrich has another scandal he needs to address. CBS News confirmed that Gingrich and his wife Calista have a Tiffany and Company credit card charged up in the range of $250,000 to $500,000. Looks like Newt likes bling.
Obama and the democrats love reading the news these days. Scandal and shenanigans seems to be the rule rather than the exception for the republicans. If it's not Sarah Palin getting her history mixed up, or Gingrich dissing his own partyits Trump eating pizza in Times Square. Nothing of any significance or substance is coming from the GOP.
Gingrich should simply step aside and let serious contenders take reigns of this out of control GOP train. Otherwise, Obama will be a shoo-in in 2012.
