Please-No More Locks of Love Stories
Comments on Stories, posted by Irma, a resident of the Vineyard Avenue neighborhood, on Jul 24, 2008 at 6:43 pm

I just read in a different local newspaper another heartwarming story about a little girl who donated the hair from her haircut to an organization that makes them into wigs. I would like to beg the Pleasanton Weekly not to print another story like this. I've read a dozen of them. Wow, what a sacrifice. I'm impressed. Can we be done? Please? It's like the milk advertisements. I've been looking at celebrities with curdled dairy product on their faces for over a decade. That SO makes me want to drink milk. Can we be done? Please?

Competition from another community? I thought only Pleasantonians were capable of such deep sacrifices.

So you don't believe that each person, especially young girls, are due their recognition for this wonderful donation? I've donated my hair three times and my daughter has donated hers twice. Her donation was never publicized, but each time it was a special event.

Articles like these make more people aware of the organization and give credit to those who help me it work. This is true of any charity.

Perhaps you should suggest that only a unique contribution or story be eligible for publication. Once an obituary, engagement, wedding, birth, retirement, fire, accident, etc. is reported, then no other ones can be reported again. Why would you want to read about another person's life's events??
