Niles Canyon Sunday around 4:30???? Crimes & Incidents, posted by Pat, a resident of the Vineyard Hills neighborhood, on May 29, 2011 at 5:34 pm
As I was coming thru niles canyon today about 4:30 pm there was 3 search and rescue units spread out along the creek thru Niles Canyon...there was about 10 people walking along the creek looking towards the water. Then when I got over to the forest ranger/fire station and bigger unit was going in that direction.
Was wondering if anyone knew what was going on? No police just the search and rescue trucks!

Same thing happened this afternoon. Saw Special Resource Unit trucks and Hayward cops. Didn't know what was going on, but most of them were on foot as if they're looking for something.

This article, which just popped up on The Valley Times, explains it. It appears it was related to the search for Michelle Le, the missing nursing student.
