Pleasanton School District Receives $3,200,000 from the Federal Government
Schools & Kids, posted by Jill, a resident of the Birdland neighborhood, on Apr 14, 2011 at 11:02 am

The Pleasanton School District previously announced that they have $3,200,000 in funds from the Federal Government to be used to pay teacher salaries. It is part of the Federal Jobs program as well as Stimulus money.

The money is for use for next school year.

Do you have a link to that announcement? I'd like to read more about it. It sounds like something they had already figured into the budget and, seeing a shortfall, put Measure E on the ballot.

Cut with the crap! It's not ""part of a Federal JOBS program as well as Stimulus money"". Get real it's an extention of Obama's campaign speech yesterday. NOTHING has been or will be done about JOBS !. My 50 yr old engineer son's last day is tomorrow....at his TEMP. position he's had for 6 weeks...to prolong his real job loss last July......part of Ca's UNemployment numbers that far exceed the nation! This is not about jobs, it is all about the steady 2 year bribe to any kind of UNION ! !

Truth teller,

What kind of engineering does your son do? I'm an engineer too, and getting on in years. I may be able to point him in the right direction.

Thanks Mark, mechanical, in Santa Rosa area. Nothing has been done to help the small existing companies....stay in existance. Everything is always about all the public unions, who don't make the ECONOMIC wheels turn, with an acceptable made-in-America GDP output! Little manufacturers are folding.

Truth teller,

I'm in Electrical, specifically chip design, so I don't know much about mechanical. Sorry I can't help much. I wish him the best of luck. I'm sure he is looking at the online job boards. It does seem that too much manufacturing is moving overseas. I know it is easy for me to say, but it is important not to get discouraged.

Mark, actually he use to be in semi-conductor design at Lam. (hope I'm right). and later something to do with etching at Nikon.

I'ts beyond me why these things fall under mechanical... mainly I guess because they are not civil, or electrical..wasn't my field.

Thanks anyway.
