Pauline, you may want to run for Mayor. That is how you can have your ideas be known and considered. That is how your can have a voice on these matters. You need to be a Mayor to attend the Conference of Mayors. If you want to have a voice locally, you may want to run for City Council. I believe the election is on November 4.

I have no problem taking on these issues in her time and on her nickel. However, us Pleasanton taxpayers paid for the trip for her to go to this conference and so I believe that means she should be representing the people of Pleasanton and not herself at the conference.

Kind of reminds me of the current president who decided to occupy another country without consulting the American people (completely on our dime by the way).

I don't think our mayor meeting to discuss world issues on our dime is quite as bad as what else has been done in our names. What kind of people are against peace and goodwill aside from the war-mongers and profiteers?

The article was wrong. The Anwar thing happened in 2006 NOT 2008!

She did represent some people with the other vote.

That certainly wasn't the only things discussed at the meeting! Pleasanton won honorable mention for the design of Fire Station #1, among other things.
