I heard there is a DUI checkpoint planned on Santa Rita tonight, near the freeway....Anyone know if this is true? Not a bad idea to start tonight and continue through New Year's Day.

They never announce where there going to have the checkpoint. But you may be right it's very close to the jail. I was watching KTVU news last night and they already started the checkpoints in p-town.

The checkpoint was last night (Thursday night) on Santa Rita Road across from the area that is Erik's Deli in the CVS shopping center. The line of cars waiting to go through was quite long.
The law may have changed since I retired, but it used to be that the department was required to announce that a DUI checkpoint was coming on "x" date, but they did not have to give the specific location.
