McNerney hosting event Saturday at Richert Lumber

Original post made on Jun 12, 2008

Congressman Jerry McNerney (D-Pleasanton) will host the next installment of his Congress at Your Corner series this Saturday at Richert Lumber in Pleasanton.
Instead of asking the public to come to one of his offices, McNerney holds the events as a way to reach out.

McNerney should support impeachment. If congress ignores the Bush administration's violence to the Constitution and the rule of law, they tell subsequent President's that such violence is their prerogative.

This matter is beyond politics, it is about essential Constitutional principles. The Congressman should display the necessary fortitude, despite fallout that may effect electability.

Yes, because impeachment during the last six months of his presidency is such a great use of tax-payer money. Furthermore, your use of "rule of law" is such a liberal catch phrase. And I do not even understand what you mean by "violence to the constitution." Did President Bush roll up the Constitution and beat it against a tree? Is that what you mean?

The President of the United States has the right to conduct foreign policy as he sees fit. Have you ever even read the Constitution and do you even understand the separation of powers? If you do not like what he is doing, then do not vote for him when the time comes.

As far as asking a left winger like McNerney to display fortitude, that's like...well, asking Barack Obama to salute the flag or asking him not to throw ALL of AMERICA under the bus when he goes overseas or asking him to stand up to terrorist nations or asking him to lower taxes and decrease government standing...we know it's not going to happen.

Quite frankly, Randy. I think you should be more upset at how this McNerney character is encouraging $4.79 per gallon gas and higher with his incompetent stance on the environment and energy.

I, myself, am flabberghasted at the fact that McNerney does not understand the basic concepts of economics - supply and demand. Sure, don't be upset at your Congressmen and Senators who have the capability and obligation to decrease the stress that high gas prices put on the American family (but they won't). Afterall, all that is needed from them is a "YAY" vote on DRILLING. Get upset at GW Bush because he proposed drilling in ANWR in 2001. If GWB got his way, gas would be flowing right now and we certainly would not be paying more than $4 dollars per gallon nor would we be dependent on foreign countries for our ability to drive to work and buy food.

No, I say impeach McNerney and his leftist goons if not for violating the letter of the Constitution, but for violating the SPIRIT of the Constitution.
