Pleasanton men get prison time for Feb. BB gun assault

Original post made on Oct 9, 2010

Two of the three Pleasanton residents charged with shooting a learning disabled man 20 or more times with BB guns will be doing time for the crime. Jonathan Fala pleaded guilty to one count of assault with a deadly weapon and will receive one strike in California's three-strike system for his role in the crime.

3 years is enough? Too Much? How can they ever restore the man they hurt to full health. These two men are another example of how to waste the precious little time we all have to live. Pathetic. I am hopeful that they will spend their years in prison quiet, alone and learning how to contribute rather than destroy.

I am disgusted with these two boys. I use the term 'boys' because this is not something a "real man" would do to another human being. How pathetic that these two hurt another human being let alone someone that society needs to protect. I don't care if the victim felt better moments after he was shot at. They drove him out to a remote location, wouldn't that fill any of us with absolute terror! And then, shot at him repeatedly! BB gun or not, these two individuals are SICK!

Something is wrong with them. I am disgusted!Part of their punishment should be community service to the disabled/handicapped. Perhaps, then they can be rehabilitated into decent human beings.

I too am disgusted with these boys behavior! To plan to drive someone out to a remote location and shoot them? That is sick behavior. At 16, these boys need therapy and some jail time. Then probation for the next 5 years. I hope it is enough to turn them around to normal behavior.
Community service to the disabled or handicapped would be a good idea too.

These two thugs deserve the prison sentence they received. They inhumanly formulated a plan to kidnap a special needs person, drive him to a remote area on Foothill Road and take turns shooting at him. And for you liberal tree hugging forgivers out there who will likely say that these 2 individuals are just misunderstood and really meant no harm because they only used a BB gun should focus their attention on the torture the true victim endured that will affect him for the rest of his life!! I'm sure he did not know it was a BB gun being pointed at him and likely thought they were going to kill him. Plus, BB's struck in certain areas can kill a person.

Also, that person who wrote that the 16 yr old female had nothing to do with this is ludicrous. She is hanging out with locally known thugs so she placed herself in that position by her own choice to be friends with criminals. Besides, once she knew what was going on, why didn't she call 911 and report this to the police if she was so innocent? She witnessed a person get tortured and did nothing about it. It was the victim who had to run to a nearby business and seek his own aid.

Lastly, I would like applaud the Pleasanton Police Dept for doing a good investigation and identifying these criminals so they can be held to answer for their criminal and senseless act. Also, kudos to the District Attorney's office for successfully prosecuting these thugs.

Interesting that a liberal wants to attack my politics instead of the horrendous crime these two thugs committed. Let me guess, you two are upset that these thugs are being sent to prison instead of therapy and rehab so their troubled lives can be analyzed by supposed experts and then argued in court to get a pardoned sentence. The only reason I threw that comment in about being a liberal tree hugger was to get a reaction from someone who once again has easily been proven to lose focus on the real issue of scaring an innocent victim for life at the hands of two punks.

Can you focus here and make your comments on the news article and not for your political statement / opinion? You're [removed] comment about "...it shows how angry you fools are" Are you saying society should not be angry toward criminals?? This has nothing to do with politics for once, this has to do with the crime that occurred. My comment was about agreeing that these two punks got convicted and the innocent victim got justice, which is unfortunately not always the case. I am not delusional, and of course as a law abiding citizen I am angry this occurred! [removed]

three years? You have got to be kidding me for shooting someone with a BB gun? What a waste of our prison system. Are they even legal residents? They should do volunteer work at some charity so they can be of some benefit to us all rather than just another bill.

yeah i agree. whats a bb gun when a cop can kill someone and get less time. no ones dead and the kids just fine. if anything they shouldve just stopped hitting the pipe and put their meth away. if anyone where to know the full details then not one person would feel sorry

First killing a couple of dogs and then this............what a waste of money. At least the gangbanger was fighting people on BART, already had two felony counts, and was resisting arrest but shooting someone with a BB gun? Volunteer work and mental counseling yes, prison nooooooooooooooooooo!!!!
