PLEASANTON, CA (KGO) -- While so many Bay Area communities are losing jobs, many companies are moving into Pleasanton and the Tri-Valley area.

"Companies are looking at Pleasanton for all the reasons they always have," Pamela Ott, Pleasanton's Director of Economic Development said. "We have transit alternatives. We have one BART station already here and another coming. We have a great quality of life."

Concord's Xradia is just the latest company planning to make the move to Pleasanton. The high-tech 3D imaging firm plans to move both its manufacturing facilities and headquarters to a 37,000 foot building on Hopyard Rd.

"We were bursting at the seams," Lon Ensler Xradia's Vice President of Finance said. "We want to be close to Silicon Valley. Pleasanton's got the right mix of technical and scientific people for a company like us."

Xradia plans to bring about 80 new jobs to Pleasanton with the move. In all, relocations from other parts of the Bay Area to the Tri-Valley area, which includes Livermore and Dublin, will bring nearly 600 jobs into the region.

Other companies planning to relocate to Pleasanton include Callidus Software, which will move from San Jose, and Patelo Credit Union, which recently announced it will move its San Francisco headquarters to Pleasanton.
