Orange X in front of my house & Asphalt on sidewalk repairs?

OK. There is inquiry about the Black X showing up on sidewalks.

I noticed yesterday that an orange X was on our sidewalk outside of our home.

It would be nice if utility or the city would leave a note when markings are made about the purpose and future work planned.

I also noticed that instead of grinding down sidewalks that pop up and cause a hazard, Northway has black asphalt "ramps" to smooth out the walk.

Reason for the change?
