First-time homebuyers can still cash in with California tax credit

California residents have just over a week left to apply to the state's first-time buyer tax credit program, the Franchise Tax Board announced Friday.

They depleted the fund a month ago. Sure, there will be some dups and maybe a little fraud, but the door on this shut a long time ago. They are just trying to kick the can on thsoe that thought they might havea chance at the credit.
