I used Wicks Roofing about 5 years ago to replace my shake shingle with a 40-year high def composition shingle roofing system. Their price was very competitive, the work done quickly and as contracted and the product looks great. Great customer service too! A couple of months after I had the roof done my (ex) bug guy sprayed for wasps and the chemical he used melted a bunch of shingles. Wicks came right out and replaced them at no charge. I've had absolutely no other problems with it!

I got my gutters replaced at the same time from the company they recommended - Gibson Gutters. A small family owned company. Same recommendation. Reasonable, great job and reasonable cost for repair (daughter backed a uhaul truck into the gutter across the front, dented it and I had to have it replaced).

Good luck!

OOPS, sorry! Wicks is a Pleasanton company; here's the number from my old invoice 925-846-4300. The number I have for Gibson Gutters is 925-516-7788.

Peterson Dean Roofing ; local family, reasonable rates, and they do a fast great job.
Do NOT let Yorkshire Roofing talk you into putting tile roof over the old shake. They did that to a lot of neighbors around here and it is not a good idea.

Make sure whoever you use has a license. John Torres, also doing business as Altamont Roofing, was hired to do some work on a rental house of ours by the tenants. He is not licensed and has had problems in the past. He gave them a laundry list of problems, billed for fixing all of them, then when we had Flipper, our licensed roofer out, they could not find that work had been done-not even the valleys cleaned! Buyer beware.
We have used Peterson Dean in the past and we were very happy with their work as well.

I used Sierra Roofing on my rental property and they did an excellent job. I would recommend them, and would quote a job out to them again.
