New carpool lane segment opens for eastbound I-580 motorists

Driving east on I-580 became easier over the weekend as Caltrans and the Alameda County Congestion Management Agency opened an additional 2.9 miles of the new carpool lane from Airway Boulevard to past Portola Road in Livermore.

Q. Is this the same lane as the BARTD to Livermore should have been built in?

IF and when BARTD ever gets built will they just rip all this out?

And
How can BARTD pay for extensions to other counties, Bay Point, Santa Clara, the SF and Oakland Airports before delivering service promised to the people who have been paying for 40 years?
