Livermore pedestrians recovering after being hit by student driver

A woman who was among a group of pedestrians struck by a student driver while crossing a street in Livermore on Saturday underwent more surgery today to repair two broken legs, a Livermore police collision investigator said.

How do you fail to see 7 people in a marked crosswalk? What were the driver with the permit and the licensed driver doing that neither of them noticed or did anything to prevent such a collision? Maybe there were no drugs or alcohol involved, but there was obviously something involved that caused two people in a car to not see 7 people in a crosswalk ahead of them.
