Am hearing lots of sirens (3:45pm, Monday) going up and down Foothill Rd ... any idea what's going on?

You might want to get a scanner. I have a Uniden that is a "Trunk Tracker" model. The radio systems in Pleasanton and Livermore are "trunked", meaning you need a trunk-tracking scanner. I listen to PPD, LPD, and LPFD all the time. It's interesting to listen to all of the "action" going on in town. Stuff like barking dog complaints, loud music, illegally parked cars, traffic stops, etc.....we live in one exciting town! LOL But I like it that way....

Not sure what was going on but there was a couple of helicopters circling along the ridge.

ogranny-----What is the make and model number of your scanner? I might not be able to help. Mine is programmable through a cable that plugs into a PC and it can get kind of tricky. But if you let me know what make/model you have, I'll look it up online to see if I can fix it for you. If it helps at all, the talk group for Pleasanton PD is 16048, and the fire department channel one is 720.
