Local Republican leaders endorse McNerney

Original post made by Chet, Dublin, on Jul 2, 2010

Dublin, CA – Local Republican leaders Mayor Mike Doyle of Danville, Councilmember Steve Abercrombie of Tracy and former Mayor and Councilmember Jack Snyder of Manteca today offered their support to Congressman Jerry McNerney (CA-11).

Mayor Mike Doyle has served on the Danville Town Council for 20 years, including 4 times as Mayor. He has lived in the area for 58 years. An Air Force veteran, Mayor Doyle participated in the Berlin Airlift and is a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion.

"Jerry McNerney has done more for our veterans than anyone else that I've worked with," said Danville Mayor Mike Doyle. "As a veteran myself, I deeply appreciate his hard work and his tireless commitment to the veterans who live in the Danville area. From fighting to keep the Livermore VA in veterans' hands to supporting the renovations of the Danville Veterans Hall, Jerry McNerney has shown that he's willing to work across the aisle and will get the job done for our community."

Councilmember Steve Abercrombie has lived in Tracy since 1988 and has served on the City Council since December of 2006.

"I greatly appreciated Jerry McNerney's work for the Tracy community," said Tracy Councilmember Steve Ambercrombie. "He's a frequent presence at local events and is always willing to lend a hand with issues that are important to our area. Congressman McNerney supports important youth programs such as D.A.R.E and has attended D.A.R.E. graduations and provided letters of support for D.A.R.E. community volunteers. He's open and accessible and holds public events to hear directly from the people he represents in Tracy. Tracy is well represented by Congressman Jerry McNerney."

Former Manteca Mayor and Councilmember Jack Snyder was first elected to the City Council in 1972, he served until 1990 and then was reelected in 2002 and served until 2008. He was Mayor for 10 years and has lived in the Manteca community for 48 years.

"I'm offering my support to Congressman Jerry McNerney because he has served Manteca extremely well," said former Manteca Mayor and Councilmember Jack Snyder. "He makes it a priority to participate in community events in Manteca and always takes the time to listen to and address our local issues. In addition, Jerry McNerney has worked tirelessly to serve the needs of the many veterans who live in our area. I'm glad to offer my support to Jerry McNerney."

Congressman McNerney responded to these statements with the following words.

"I'm very appreciative of having the support of such dedicated public servants," said Rep. McNerney. "They all are tireless advocates for the communities they represent and believe in working together to find independent solutions to the challenges we face. I'm honored to have their endorsements and look forward to our continued work together to serve the people of this area well."

These endorsements build on other high profile Republican support from San Joaquin County Supervisors Steve Bestolarides and Larry Ruhstaller. They both offered Congressman McNerney their support last spring, citing his independence, accessibility, hard work, attention to local issues, and success in securing a new veterans medical facility and nursing home for San Joaquin County.

Okay, I admit I was a little stunned reading Chet's excerpt above but I checked out a news release on Representative McNerney's re-election website: Web Link to read further details. I know, it's a press release but if it's false, the truth will come out.

But, before some of you attack Rep. McNerney (Republicans, please take a moment to reflect on the fact that endorsements came about as a result of Rep. McNerney's LOCAL efforts. For me, this is the point I have been driving home for some time is...LOCAL representation by our Congressman.

Some of you are so spiteful, angry about the world, angry about Washington and mis-emotional that you are unwilling to see what he has done for us LOCALLY. What's so hard about that? I know, you HATE anything from a Democrat. But, face it, Rep. McNerney has done more our local communities than Pombo did.

Want proof: read the dang web link to see the endorsements. And, if you want to call these Republicans names, keep it to yourself...

Face the facts, McNerney made promises to get elected, then broke them, on very important issues. He sold us out big time. He lied, he is a liar. He is looking out for his best interest period. McNerney is a TRAITOR to all Americans, "LOCALLY" and ELSEWHERE, EVERYWHERE! McNerney is a bought and paid for puppet and does not have the nerve to meet with the people in a public debate. He has good reason to be afraid, because he knows what he has done to the people that he was chosen to represent in good faith.

Dublinmike, you have no credibility whatsoever. Can we say "hidden agenda"?

Anyone that supports McNerney is either brain dead and useless or an enemy of the best interest of America and the rest of the world.

WEAK WEAK AND WEAKER
You know nothing and your excuses are lame. Tell that to the "local" families that have had their sons, brothers, etc. come home from the Middle East in a body bag because McNerney promised, if elected, to get us out of the wars, but instead keeps voting to fund the wars!
He should be locked up behind bars with the rest of the crooks in the District of Criminals.

Mark spouts nothing original but what he gets from the mind of convicted criminal Lyndon LaRouche.

I takes zero courage to tend to 'motherhood and apple pie' issues !!! I'm looking for a genuine 'REPRESENTATIVE" with courage to stand up to Ms Pelosi, a twisted new medical insurance bill for our kids, and gnerally stupid
bills that are an insult to taxpayers.

Mark, work on you anger issues first, then I will start giving you some creditability. "McNerney is a TRAITOR to all Americans" is not a fact, it's ranting, it's emotional incoherence.

If Representative McNerney is a "TRAITOR," then Republican leaders Mayor Mike Doyle of Danville, Councilmember Steve Abercrombie of Tracy and former Mayor and Councilmember Jack Snyder of Manteca are guilty by association. Therefore, using your statements, Mark you are: WEAK WEAK AND WEAKER

And, Wants courage, I respect your opinion that you want someone to stand up to Pelosi, but that's only one part of the equation. Representative McNerney took action and received endorsements from local Republicans. So, to reiterate, I want a representative that works on LOCAL issues. If you respect my opinion then I respect yours.

Our fine Congressman Jerry McNerney has always pushed bills and policy that supports us in District 11. He is going to look like a shining star on the hill compared to the GOP candidate who does not even live in our District. We just can't take a candidate seriously who DOES NOT EVEN LIVE IN OUR DISTRICT. We need to keep Jerry McNerney working for us all in Washington D.C.

Geeez Chet -- You brought tears to my eyes. What poetry, "Shining star on the hill." By the way, I was looking for that "Star on the Hill" to hold a Town Hall Meeting during the Health Care debate, and he was Missing In Action like the rest of the Democrats.

I'm proudly voting for David Harmer.

I find it sickening these people would even endorse such a person. I can't wait to see McNerney LOSE.

What!!! These RINOs have lost it! At the same time Jerry "the Pelosi of Pleasanton" McNerney is smiling and shaking your hand at the VFW BBQ....he's going back to DC and spending your children and grandchildren into a debt load that is designed to crush America so the Socialist can rebuild their Marxist "utopia" from the ashes.

Wake up Patriots! McNerney and his ilk are attacking our constitution (that he swore to defend) and these veterans bled and died defending. He must be defeated! Join a TEA Party group ASAP and take your country back! Get involved in the David Harmer campaign to defeat McNerney. Take action!!

Thank goodness we have our fine Congressman Jerry McNerney who actually lives in District 11 fighting so hard in Washington to be sure our soldiers, veterans and families get the support they need. Harmer does not even live in District 11 so how could be considered to be our representative.
