WORLD CUP EXTRAVAGANZA Sports, posted by New Soccer Fan, a resident of the Another Pleasanton neighborhood neighborhood, on Jun 18, 2010 at 9:26 am
I was up at 6:30 this morning watching the USA play Slovenia in the World Cup. I was hooting and hollering in my PJ's, sloshing coffee all over the place. Then I stopped and wondered why, all of a sudden, I was watching soccer. I'm an averagely avid NFL fan, and soccer, well it's a distant and slower cousin of American football. Then I realized that today, ALL KIDS play soccer. In the old days ALL KIDS played Little League. So, as a normal American, I took my kids to soccer practice, both my boys and my girl since they were playing 8 and Under. They stopped at the normal ages, but I've seemed to have picked up the bug. A full generation of kid's soccer is finally taking root. GO USA!

It's EXTREMELY exciting to watch the games! I warm up the milk and enjoy marmalade and toast. These games are the best I've ever seen. At this point, there's no telling who's gonna win.

It's great to hear people enjoying something loved by so many people all over the world. The games have been hard to keep up with on my recorder and so unpredictable. It's GREAT!! GO USA, USA, USA....
