Garbage not picked up Around Town, posted by Wendy, a resident of the Another Pleasanton neighborhood neighborhood, on Jun 17, 2010 at 3:31 pm
Normally, our garbage is picked up today. Our yard waste bin was emptied, but our regular garbage and our recycled waste bins were not emptied. It looks like our neighbors' bins were emptied. Anybody know why this would be? There was anything unusual placed in them. Could it be they weren't perfectly placed on the sidewalk? They seem to be in the usual place to me.

Well our garbags is suppose to be picked up on Mondays, when I got home 1/2 the can was still full. I called Tuesday morning and they were suppose to come yesterday but when I got home the garbage was still in there. I thought why bother now tomorrow is Thursday and they will be here if a few days. Frustrating though

Wendy,

Once in awhile they miss a can or two. I've lived in Pleasanton going on 19 years, and I think I've had to call twice. Both times I believe they came out the next day and picked up the missed cans. Not bad for over 960 trips!!!

If your can is to full and overflowing thay may not pick it up. I guess thay don't want to take a chance of it spilling on the street. We have lived here 34 yrs and have never had to call them back.

With all the cans everyone has these days - Greenwaste, Recycle, Regular - it's amazing they do as good a job as they do. All you need to do is call them. It happens every now and then. You can also e-mail them on-line - they get right back to you.

I am here to tell you that they don't always get right back to you. I sent email one week ago and never got an answer. However, they did exchange the can as I had requested.

For the record the cans are supposed to be on the street not the sidewalk. Not only to keep the sidewalk clear but to keep people from parking next to a can and making it impossible to pick up without getting out of the truck and moving it. You know they hate getting out of the truck.
