I have several complaints regarding the teacher's union, my biggest however is that they advocate for teacher's (which is what they are supposed to do), but use our children as a negotiation and political tactic. Its shameful at best.

I've heard more than just a few complaints about you. Great NEWS...your kids earned only 7 D's this year! HOORAY!

Excellent link by the way. But if you wouldn't mind me bringing up some of the more complex elements of the "education struggle". The other side of the teacher union coin is the flatulent administrators that soak up a lot of dough at the top. For example at UC Berkeley employees classified as "senior officials" - earning more than $214,000 in total compensation - rose 6.3 percent, to 3,184 from 2,996 people (more examples in our own backyard are numerous) ... SO: The struggle becomes one of one greed (administrators) vs another greed (teacher unions). Left out of the equation are kids, parents, dedicated teachers, tax payers, a future that will require leadership to deal with oil spills, immigration overloads, a tax that will kill every hard working American. Greed sucks! And we pay!!!

if you're so far along amy, maybe it's time to make your peace before you moveon.com?
