There are a lot of people with a lot of nasty things to say about things going on around this city. The unkind words said about our elected officials, how our police and firefighters are “ …ruining our country “, to the unique perspective that Americans are under direct mind control. All the while personal agendas, half truths and outright lies are the order of the day. I have the strongest suspicion that if those of you with the less than polite attitudes were offered a chance to meet in a public forum your bravery and slanderous comments would be as absent as moderation and common sense are on this web site. That is if you would attend at all.
If the current hardships have done anything toward the positive it is to remind us that community is very important and it all starts with changes we make at home. That divisiveness is corrosive to what makes us us. That the world is full of complainers and those self appointed to critique but the people that really matter are the “doers”. It’s time to break your addictions to the “blog’O’sphere”. Get out and DO something. Make no mistake what occurs here is not making anything better. Though you think your opinion is heard and has value and in so has value, you are wrong, and the PW is happy to have you believe the opposite. As the ensuing comments from this post will show, every message here is discounted and mocked and too your valued opinion.
To the people who hear me, it appears daunting, what to do, where do I start? Think “civic minded”. Volunteer, find what really pisses you off and DO that. Give some time, an hour, not much and if you don’t know where start, ask questions. City hall is a good place to start. Talk to your neighbors and do something locally together, there is real power in numbers.
Bless you for attempting to make where you and I live just a little bit better. There is honor and valor in the attempt. Thank you.

It is with effort and not cynicism, strength not word, that we as a city can be greater for having endured hard times.
To the “ cold and timid souls” I say…do your worst because from what I see from following some of the posts and your valued opinion your best in not nearly good enough.

Here, here. I have always believed in the phrase "if not, then what?" If you feel the (fill in the blank) is wrongly done, then do something. As stated above, be a "doer." If don't like things about the school district or city council, become educated about the restrictions they work under. Make suggestions.
But remember this a representative democracy. You can't always have your way. You can, however, also vote in elections. You are never to busy exercise your right to vote.

SPEAKING OUT to right wrongs, and give consideration, fairness, justice, and protection to residents and workers, IS DOing, as is trying to UNDO wrongs that have been DONE TO them and their families.... (that includes school happenings, city actions, confiscations,restrictions, and more).
It does seem in recent days, some self-appointed busy-body has decided to police and silence anybody who dares to have thoughts she doesn't agree with...forgetting this a America. In her world, Baskin-Robbins doesn't need 31 flavors ! Banilla shall be forced on all of us like-it-or-not !

Big Poppa, a resident of the Ruby Hill neighborhood, sorry if your life is bitter but I agree with the concept that life is not full or even quarter-full of lollops. But, my friend, my life was down twice but I found the strength to pick my self up and move forward.
It comes down to: stop, look at what's going on in front of you, figure out if you can address the issue, then, when all else fails... tomorrow offers new opportunities. I know, Pollyanna stuff, but I bet when you wake up tomorrow the sun will rise, the coffee will be ready, the Democrats will have not destroyed the universe, the Republicans will have not... what ever they do and some child will have a smile on their face to make me smile back.

That is bad enough on it's own, but pales to the fact that all of Washington District of Criminals knowingly let him get away with it and much more. Did McCain do anything about it. A third grader could figure out that McCain was never meant to "win" the alleged election, nor did he attempt to win the circus act. He had his role to play and did an unconvincing job of that, to those that knew of that fraud at the time.
Obommer is not a US citizen and never did provide a legitimate Birth Certificate. Had the Republicans actually tried to win the election, there are/were plenty of legitimate reasons for that party to stop Obommers bid, and had justice been served, Obommer would be in lock up today and/or deported. Especially in this day and age of dirty politics and smear campaigns. Where is/was the OUTRAGE by the Republican representitives over Obommers illegitimacies. It never existed as they sit back and do nothing because they are told to do nothing.The media acts in colusion. Remember when they actually practiced "investigative journalism". Now that type of behavior seals their fate in that industry. Report the facts and you are looking for a new job/career. Just like a they do to the whistle blowers. Justice does not exist here in the USSA.
Same thing with Gore and Bush. If you research it, it is easy to find out that the election was a total fraud. What did Gore and his election committee do about it? NOTHING! Gore played the role he was given, and it seems the payoff includes the part he is playing now and all of it's perks. The agenda he is pushing is a total fraud. Read about "The Report From Iron Mountain", a product of the 1960s which laid out this agenda and the United Nations role in the power grab.
Here in the USSA, Selections take precident over election. The two party system only exists on paper and in most peoples minds. I don't think these criminals could be any more obvious, at least to anyone that is capable of critical thinking and applies it.Remember that the greatest Weapon of Mass Deception in history is the television.
The Bush/Kerry circle jerk was unconscionable. If you know anything about the Yale University "Skull And Bones" Society and the fact that both Bush and Kerry are members of it, nothing else needs to be said. That Death Society recruit 15 new members each year and they all pledge allegiance to the Skull and Bones Death Society above all other allegiances period. Bush was selected to play the part of president and Karry was selected to play the part of a presidential candidate.
We can draw 2 obvious conclusions from the faked election without much effort. The selection/election circus act and the fact that in reality, we only have one political party in Washington. With just a little research one can understand that there is a shadow government that decides the issues and the president and congressmen are all puppets having sold their sole to the Internation Banksters that rule USA and all countries that have a central bank like we have, the Federal Reserve Bank which is privately owned. Then you can see that main stream media is also totally corrupt, as is Hollywood, and the US Education System. The facts that support everything I posted here are easy to find. These are just facts that I already knew, and threw out there as examples of the corrupt powers that continue to act in bad faith against us.

Whatever. I think you need to check your meds. There are a few trolls and a few who are Internet cowards, but by and large the posters here will repeat their comments to your face. And it is our right and duty to watch and critizise our leaders when they make questionable decisions.

james maybe you should address by name who you are refering too. I assume that you are refering to me though. I suggest to you that you are completely clueless as to the hard facts in the real world and I challenge you to disprove any thing that I posted. I already know from what you said and/or did not say that you know absolutely nothing about the subject matter and you would better serve your self by saying nothing about everything. Otherwise everytime that you say something you only expose your ignorance and also that you are not intelligent to realize just how ignorant you really are. Try reading/listening more and saying less or nothing at all. Turn off your TV also because all you get there is proganda and lies.I assume you have a lot of TV time. If you didn't know it already, television today is geared for people with a 6th grade education. That is not very flattering, but TV today is an insult to the intelligence of myself and others. The lies and agenda that they promote are disgraceful and evil. I am going to give you a couple of links that I think you should check out. I use them for news gathering and general info research. Iam not implying that everything will be correct and/or truthful, but a good place to begin.

This is an angry time. When we have the kind of criminal leadership that we currently have in Washinton, DC, Sacramento, and Bay Area municipalities, it leads to anger. When you have firefighters in Pleasanton earning an average of $140,000/year and being able to retire after 20 years at full pay and benefits for life (50 years?), while spending far too much of that time grocery shopping, cooking and lounging in the spa at Club Sport, it gets people angry. In a number of cities in the Bay Area, 2/3 of the city budgets go to pay for fire and police. It didn't used to be anywhere near that percentage and its enough to get people angry. When city council members' primary purpose is to lard their wallets with payola from developers, it make people angry. When left-wing loons vote left-wing loons into office so they can turn this great nation into a pathetic welfare state it makes people angry. Yup, people are angry and there are going to be a bunch of left-wing loons and union goons that are going to feel the heat come November.

There are 'loons' equally on exteme right and extreme left. We NEED people 'speaking out' in every type of 'forum'. Sadly the more moderate mainstream are FALSELY sterotyped and lumped in with the nuts. So we need places to speak with moderation. Say ONE thing that might classify you, and everybody assumes you're 'one of them'and like them on everything else ! Not all is perfect in any party, club, city, school, or government. But, we can speak out 'seeking' improvement. How sad that some are SO timid, blind, and intimidated that they would rather squelch, cover-up, hush-up, and 'live with' wrongs, evils, and injustices than have the COURAGE to speak or HEAR.

I am so pleased to see and read the comments posted by Mark, Angry and Speaking Out. What a breathe of fresh air. There isn't one thing that Mark said that isn't true...He's right...take the time and research the subject matter and you will immediately understand the facts of life. By the way, what Mark said is a sad situation, but it's worse when there are folks that can't see the trees from the forest. My hat is off to the three above messengers of the fact.

It's not just firefighters and police with the pensions that are killing us. Take the first director of our CITY library for example. On the job for 3 years or so and then retires with full pension. Same deal with John Casey supt of schools. I think people take these jobs with the total intention of putting in minimum years and cashing out at our expense. It's got to stop,.
