I am always outraged when I see Michelle Bachmann. She's nutty with a capital N.

If everyone really, truly, honestly wanted to stop the financial train wreck of our nation we would stop MILITARY SPENDING. Think about what one $10 BILLION jet would buy if we spent it on education for example. Please, 50% of our budget is military spending. Keep your eye on the prize.

Janna, you didn't respond to the post. From what I understand reading the Forum, you and your husband are out of work like millions of others. Is Congrass doing such a great job that you think they deserve another raise...along with the outrageous benefits that are not availalbe to us?

SS; you want to cut military spending? Then I presume you will be voting against ALL incumbents this fall?

Politicians acting out of self interest? I am shocked.
No, not really, they are all what they are.

Amy's link refers to the vote in 2007. What is the point of referring to this line? Please clarify.

The video of Michele Bachmann's speech was of limited use. Better off to check out Cantor's You Tube "You Cut"

As a separate note, McNerney introduced H.R. 4440 to increase the maximum amount for the military special pays known as hostile fire pay

Dems again brush off cuts sought by GOP's online initiative
By Michael O'Brien - 05/28/10 03:51 PM ET

The House dismissed on Friday a Republican-led effort to freeze wages for non-military federal employees.

The House voted 227-183 to table a motion to recommit a defense authorization bill to kill a 1.4 percent pay raise for civilian federal employees proposed by the Obama administration.

The cuts were picked under the GOP's "YouCut" initiative, and was offered by Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.). Republicans said the cuts would have saved $30 billion over 10 years.

Three Republicans voted to keep the pay raises in place, while 18 Democrats joined the GOP in calling for the cut.

This vote was the second time Democrats brushed aside a GOP vote forced under the "YouCut" program, where online visitors and other supporters can vote on proposed spending cuts.

Democrats needled the GOP on Friday by submitting an item for next week's vote that would cut the funding for House Republicans' "America Speaking Out" initiative.

DublinMARXIST! ???? I am not even a Socialist and generally support businesses. I do recycle, so I guess I am a bit of liberal (even though I support a strong defense and glad I live in America).

BTW, you did not answer my seemingly simple question: "Amy's link refers to the vote in 2007. What is the point of referring to this line? Please clarify." If you think this questioning gives you the right to state "Don't F with me." then you really have a serious problem. You need some anger-management help before you physically hurt someone. Seriously.
