Contra Costa Times Recommends David Harmer as GOP Nominee...

Original post made by Mike on Apr 30, 2010

The Contra Costa Times is wise to recommend David Harmer of the GOP Contenders for US House of Representatives to run against Jerry McNerney in November. Harmer has the most experience and is not a single issue candidate.

Harmer is another Tea Party bigot like his friend Bridget Melson. I'll vote for McNerney over this bigot scum any day of the week.

"I'll vote for McNerney over this bigot scum any day of the week."

Suspicious, since elections are held only on Tuesdays...

What a surprise! Mr. Harmer, who lives in Congressional District 10 and has run for office in CD10, is being endorsed by a Walnut Creek newspaper based in CD10.

The Contra Costa Times made it clear that their endorsement was going to be for a Republican, it was just a matter of which one. That also is not a surprise as the Contra Costa Times is owned by newspaper conglomerate MediaNews Group's William Dean Singleton, an influential long-time Republican.

And then there was the endorsement itself. Mr. Harmer, who as defined by his own words, is a "career politician in search of a place to serve", was the Times' choice because "David Harmer is best prepared to serve in Congress. He comes from a political family..."

LOL!! Now that's a solid endorsement!

Rae, the Contra Costa Times is endorsing Mr. Harmer for the Republican Primary in CD 11. Remember that the CC Times endorsed Jerry McNerney in 2006 and 2008 (D-CD 11), Mr. Obama in 2008, and Mr. Garamendi over Mr. Harmer for the CD 10 special election last year.

The CC Times consistently works to elect Democrats in the general elections. Why have they endorsed Harmer at this point, one can only gues. Regardless who is endorsed in the Republican primary in CD 11, they will endorse the incumbent Democrat Jerry McNerney in November.
