THE CONTRADICTION OF GOVERNMENT SPENDING
State, National, International, posted by Miguel, a resident of the Another Pleasanton neighborhood neighborhood, on Apr 25, 2010 at 11:30 am

Without inciting a riot by mentioning the name Bill Maher, he did mention one good point on this weeks show (HBO On Demand). If you want to reduce government expenditures/spending/etc you must (by definition) support military budget cutbacks.

I have a few relatives who are retired from the military after 20 years. One of them goes to the hospital at least 3 times a month, has had over $1.5 million dollars of operations over the last 15 years, gets expensive accessories, therapy (one for getting him the bath tube because he weighs over 350 lbs) and of course all medication he can consume. He has abused the system and has been supported doing so by those who provide the care. The other relative has lung cancer, is going to die within 3 months and just received a $5000 pair of shoes for his diabetes. He's bed ridden. The other relative has had over 40 operations in 30 years. Look this woman is a hypochondriac (believe me). Yet, they all are mad at the government (Tea Party people) and cry for less government spending.

Yes, one of them made the famous statement "Keep the socialist government from touching my Medicare".(For those who don't get the joke Medicare IS socialist government at work) Another contradiction this one from Glenn Beck "O. is a socialist - socialism is evil - where did I learn this FROM THE LIBRARY because it's free (again the library is a socialist institution).

All I am suggesting is just don't be a hypocrite and everything will be fine. Cut! Cut! Cut!
