A sincere (and important) question to Republicans State, National, International, posted by anti-stupid brigade, a resident of the Another Pleasanton neighborhood neighborhood, on Mar 27, 2010 at 11:24 pm
What are the differences between the ideals of the Republican party and child molesters? I honestly see no difference. The GOP was whole-heartedly against the HCR bill. The American Council of Catholic Bishops also came out forcefully against the HCR bill. The American Catholic Bishops have a long history of sheltering pedophile priests and allowing them to continue to prey on innocent children all across America, making them not only complicit in their activities but accessories to them. (Bill, I'm especially interested in your response). Or is this just another false equivocation?

ASB,
Please be fair. The majority of right-wing Christians are Protestant, not Catholic. But since you brought it up, let me share a few Christian ideals that help shape the proud values of the GOP (and its righteous offspring, the Tea Party) today:
1. Jesus was asked about paying taxes in Matthew 22, and he responded that one should "render unto Caesar what is Caesar's." In other words, scream, holler, throw a tantrum, wear a teabag on your head, break windows, hurl racial slurs and anti-gay epithets, cut people's gas lines, threaten them, and basically try to intimidate and frighten Caesar instead of paying taxes. This is the true path of our Lord.
2. In Luke 19, we have the story of Zacchaeus the Tax Collector. Turns out Zaccheaus was not a popular guy--wonder why! But Jesus declared in front of the crowd that Zacchaeus was saved. Why? Because he gave half his income to the poor. Well, we Pleasanton Republicans do that, too! You should see the cars, clothes, cosmetic surgery, jewelry, shoes, computers, gaming systems, phones, ipods, party money, and other expensive toys we've given our children and spouses--people who, if not for our charitable giving, would be utterly destitute!
3. In Acts, Peter, the Apostles, and their followers sell all they own and distribute to the community based on need. When a man who owned land sold it and gave only part to the community, he was struck dead by God. The moral? Socialism is evil!
So please, anti-stupid brigade, instead of opening your mouth to criticize, how about opening a Bible?

jim01 got his comment censored - as a sarcastic mocking of another regular commenter (anti-stupid brigade),
and now that same commenter makes a new thread mocking another commenter, which sarcastically compares republicans and catholics to child molesters? I fail to see why this thread should not be deleted entirely
