How Does Health Care Reform Affect Me?

Original post made by Stacey, Amberwood/Wood Meadows, on Mar 19, 2010

Tired of getting sound bytes on the subject?

ProPublica, a non-profit investigative journalism organization, has a nice section on their website devoted to the subject of health care reform (Web Link).

Most people want to know how legislation is going to affect them personally. ProPublica put together a series of articles detailing what health care changes the bill proposes and how they affect different people.

Stacey - Excellent links!!! I'm on the fence about how I feel on the topic overall (think we need an overhaul, not sure this is the way to go) but your links are straightforward and free from rhetoric. Much needed and appreciated.

Thanks for the info, and I must admit I only read the link that contained the specifics for someone that is already insured.

That being said, your information is dated (Dec 1, 2009) and as such, is no longer accurate.

Take a look at the latest CBO report...the facts have changed, again.

People just seem to see the several good benefits, i.e. insure college kids, pre-existing, etc. and tend to gloss over the UNKNOWN that's hidden in the other 2000 pages.
The the ticky HOW TO PAY FOR IT starts coming into play. Now they'll add a new TAX of 3.8% on UNearned get all those RICH people who have enough to save, to PAY for the COST...(in order to spread the wealth, you have to spread the burden). 3.8% tax on unearned is interest on bonds or savings, dividends on stocks in your retirement, annuities, royalities.....yep, that covers most productive people!... that's the 'equalizing' concept
The real killer that puzzles me why any Bay Arean would be a tax-em DEM. OUR INCOMES & house prides are VERY different & higher than anywhere else...we're not in Kansas, or Idaho, or Oklahoma!! Yet, all FED programs LIKE this HEALTH INSUR (it's NOT care) program. Remember the RICH $250,000. income couple they wanted to stick it to....well now, it's $ 88,000. They had to come up with meeting the phony CBO numbers SOME way ! That HAD to keep it UNDER SAYING or READING that nasty TTTRILLION $$$ word !!! Of course, all enlightened people KNOW it IS a Trillion $$....but by taking away more Medicare coverage and MAKING STATES COVER THEIR OWN MEDI-CAL, taking to lower levels, more savings , etc....for the DAY of the VOTE they can tell the lie that's it UNDER the Trillion suicide words.

Don't miss out on the discussion!
