We are at the precipice. It is still our call, if the American people would wake up and make enough noise, the voices would be heard. Failing that, they will be heard in November

Assuming you're referring to the use of reconciliation, you must at least be educated in the history of the use of this option, in which case you would know that it has been used more often to further the Republican agenda than that of the Democratic Party. As such, I would ask you, did that usage represent a Republican Dictatorship, at which time you would have to point out the current elected Democratic administration and majority indicates that indeed, it did not.
So in answer to your questions, "no," and "yes."

I have never ever seen such bullying tactics being used ranging from President Obama, Speaker Pelosi and Majority Leader Reid. It is outrageous that this great nation is under such dictatorship. This is no longer about Democrats vs Republicans. This is about our constitution where the representative we elected are suppose to represent the people not running their own agenda. Why doesn't anyone see it? Oh yes, the Republican RIGHT is not any better than the Democratic LEFT. Both are BAD for this great nation!

My expression of "Democratic Dictatorship" is not directed to the Democratic party... In my last post, I bashed the Republican RIGHT as well! So please wake up... 2 wrongs doesn't make it right... If this is about retaliation, this country has indeed transformed into a dictatorship. We will soon see censorship too!

Then I don't understand what you're referring to.

Is a Democratic Dictatorship one where the majority faction can trample the rights of the minority faction? Perhaps it is one where government can dictate to individuals who is allowed to get married? Or maybe it is one where government can advantage a minority faction over a majority faction in the name of equality?

Political Moderate, may I suggest to you that you register so that we know it's you and not someone that hijacked your ID. It happened to me.

Thank goodness we live in a country where freedom of the press is prevalent. Otherwise, I would have never known about the "Democratic Dictatorship."

Get a GRIP PLEASE people! Bush & Co was a MASTER at these tactics.

(The tactic known as a "self-executing rule" or a "deem and pass" has been commonly used. NO HUGE surprise as you wingers would have common folks believe!

Bush put his buddy's in high positions over the week end recess, as well as added and deleted major content in most every bill he signed, MKORE than most Presidents hands down and CONSTANTLY, with NO Congressional oversight.

Then he invaded an entire Country based upon cold calculated lies, against the approval of the United Nations!

And you folks want to talk about loss of freedoms? That happened in the most blatant ways under your boys watch!

Where on earth were all you nuts during that phase? You people are really out of control, just as out of control as big pharma and the heath plans.

dublinmike: No one has stolen my identity yet.. maybe not after tonight!

get a grip please: So what you are saying is that Bush did it, so now it's democrats turn? What a country! Do what is right... this is not about revenge... take the high road! Again, 2 wrongs don't make a right... take a breath and inhale... come to your senses!

To ALL: it's is quite amazing... there is no logic to some of the arguments.. tunnel vision... narrow minded... to reach greatness is not about 'spreading the wealth...' and it's not about 'collecting the wealth'... it's about doing what is RIGHT (not political right... ) wow... this great country has lost it's direction! Ouch!

I saw on TV, elder statesman, retired DEM Senator Robert Byrd upset that Dems were tryig reconciliation. He said it was an abuse of the process....reonciliation was never intended for matters such as this.

Get a Grip and others who are defending the actions of Democrats because Republicans did something similar under just don't get it. Our country has been hijacked by the political elite who dictate more and more of what we do every day. Spending has been out of control for years, the class of people taking government entitlements has grown to ever larger numbers, corruption amongst politicians is rampant, and decisions are bought by lobbyists. We've allowed our country to be taken over by an elitist class of lifetime politicians. People who are totally out of touch with the majority of Americans whether they be Republicans, Democrats, or Independents.

Do you really think our representatives care about our opinions? Not unless your donating huge sums of money or delivering thousands of votes to them. With every new or expanded social program they are taking more power for themselves and stealing our freedom.

Wake up! - maybe you are in the minority and the representatives care about opinions of their majority. Just a thought.

'Repub' (poser): If our 'representatives' cared about the opinion of the majority, we would not be going through the endless debate about Obamacare.

Republican Dublin, you're fooling yourself if you think your representative cares about what you think. Maybe you like his or her ideology but he really doesn't care what you think. He's listening to the lobbyists who can send large amounts of money to his campaign war chest or he's buying votes with your tax dollars. You're blinded by your partisanship; this has nothing to do with majority/minority, left/right, or liberal/conservative. We're not being served by the people who were elected to represent us. They are serving themselves at our expense. Take your blinders off; the state and the federal governments have been mismanaged for decades by the same self-serving crooks.

Do you really think members of Congress are representing the majority or the minority? Have you looked at approval ratings for Congress? Obviously most people disagree with you.

Amazing thing is WU, if you go back to my postings of over a year ago in these forums, I said much the same thing. We agree on a lot of this.

Where we differ, obviously, is what we want the next set of crooks to be elected to do with the power.
