It's beautiful outside between the rain and sunshine, creativity is in the air. How about some poetry this week? Post it here, keep it clean and express yourself ~ Beginner, Intermediate and Professional Poets welcome ~

INTO THE GAPING MOUTH OF DAY

I stare at the flickering light

Dancing about in this cold windy cave

Water lapping at its knees

Gapping mouth that will house

All who venture too far out

On a day such as this

Like a trapped bird

I bounce off the walls

Trying to miss the waves

Cutting me to the quick

Like a sharpened blade off the shelf

On a day such as this

Would you like to gather in person, downtown and have a workshop then share our poetry? I would like to meet once a month to share and workshop poetry if I can get together 5 or more people interested. E-mail me poetryoncanvas@mac.com

Chasing the Rainbow

It’s just out of grasp

Skinned my knee

Time to flee

If I jump I’ll catch the tail

If not I shall surely fail

How can I get to the end

Like Right Now

I’m feeling stressed

I want to howl

To be the Best

I must be much Better

Look over my shoulder

At the other feller

Chasing and running

I’m running out of breath

To Catch the Rainbow

Will be my Death
