Gun Shots Fired!
Crimes & Incidents, posted by Brenson, a resident of the Vintage Hills Elementary School neighborhood, on Mar 28, 2008 at 10:25 pm

I'm a resident in the Vintage Hills neighborhood and this morning (March 28th 2008) @ approx. 4:00am, it sounded like someone fired off 4 rounds of gun fire. I've talked to other neighbors who heard the same sounds, but no one seems to know specifically what happened. I heard the sound of a fire truck approx. 15 minutes after the shots were fired, but no siren sounds. There is nothing on the web or news about this incedent. Does anyone have information on this?

Did you try calling PPD?

I actually reported 3 rounds fired on the 19th to non-Emergency PPD. I was really happy that by the time I walked upstairs to look out my window a police cruiser was already in the neighborhood. Nothing came of that.

My wife also heard the gunshots you reported in the original post. I have not heard anything further on either of the incidence.

We're very fortunate to have a very good police force in Pleasanton. Well, maybe with the exception of one officer that probably won't be back after his visit to the grey bar hotel.

My neighbor's teenage daughter(home alone at the time)saw prowlers in their backyard and called our house for help(Neighborhood watch works). We called the police, gave them her description of the two individuals and I had only been at her house approx. 5 -6 minutes when the local patrol officers arrived. They had already surveyed the area for anyone fitting the descriptions. They took a report and assured her they would be in the area for some time. I stayed with her until her mom arrived home from shopping. No suspects detained but I was very impressed by the quick response and professionalism shown by the officers.

I talked to 3 or 4 neighbors who heard the 4 shots also. My dog was going crazy at 4 am that morning, but I didn't hear the shots. I haven't heard anything about it on the news.

I also called the PPD when I heard the shots. They assured me that they were having some type of military funeral or ceremony in Dublin at Camp Parks and they were shots from that and not a gun shooting.

I heard the shots and a fire truck. This has nothing to do with Camp Parks, you can tell how close gun shots are and WHY would there be a fire truck HMMMNM the police are covering somthing up, they probally fired shots themselves and are covering it up!
