Obama: "Hey, HS Grad, You'll Only Go To The College I'll Allow You To"

Original post made by Elaine, Another Pleasanton neighborhood, on Mar 8, 2010

Now that Obama has eliminated competition among student loan programs, there is only one program available starting July 19...call it the ObamaLoan.

Guess what students, it'll take you much longer to pay it back than when the loan programs had to compete among themselves. Remember the good ol' days where free market capitalism kept costs down and allowed choice?

With the Federal strings attached to all student loan programs, it won't be long until the Fed tells our High School grads where they are ALLOWED to go to college.

Socialism ... because it is only "fair" for all ... eh?

....and the loans won't go to any kids we know. There are now federal limits...one size has to fit all. So the rich ceiling cutoffs are set for Alabama, Ohio, Neraska, and Oklahoma...you know the rich country club folks in those areas earn $80-$90k so are not eligible for any assistance...so those are the same standards for our Bay Area...where that won't buy a family home and pay for kids college...so those BayArea middle-class kids are tossed aside with no education,Even community colleges are full, Mom & Dad are trying to keep the house on furlough pay, so their kids can't attend. Of course the 'poor' are lucky enough to get assistance and get full rides. Pres Yudof said last week kids from $70K families get full tuition. $90k families have to pay the $25,000./yr per kid. DUMB people in DC don't bother with RICH Bay Area. Tell our kids they're to rich so cannot attend. Thanks for DISCRIMINATING DC.

the level of stupid in this post is epic. Okay, let's stick with the current system where college's collude with loan providers to take advantage of loan programs and get what are essentially legalized kick backs (subsidies) to provide loans they already profit off of. Students don't have a choice as it is, but this new program essentially strips the banks of this subsidy (kickback) and saves the govt 87 billion and you decry it...make up your mind already

Obama is so incompetent he cannot even get his own party to vote for his socialist ideas. He has gotten basically nothing done since getting into office other than racking up huge debt, increasing unemployment, and flying around the world and the US campaigning or crying about the job is to big for him and no one will cooperate with him. He will go down as one of the worst presidents in history and his legasy is one we may not survive long term. A true disaster. The only thing he will be known for being successful at is cleaning out Washington of all incumbants next November both Democrat and Republican........great accomplishment actually.

Rita, somehow i get the feeling you wrote your post about 6 months ago and just come on the boards every once in a while and copy/paste it in. Blah blah blah, socialist, blah blah blah increasing unemployment, blah blah blah worst president, blah blah blah huge debt. Nevermind the fact that the stock market has gone up 40% since a year ago today, nevermind the fact that in his first month in office in january 09, the country lost 750000 jobs and this month that loss rate dropped to 32k and will actually increase in march by a few hundred thousand (yes, job CREATION), nevermind the fact that most economists last year predicted the 4th quarter GDP in 09 would grow about 2.0% and it actually ended up growing 5.9%. If a republican had this kind of economic turnaround in one year you would be creating laws to put his face on the 50 dollar bill. Let's remember that at this point in his presidency reagan had an unemployment rate at 10.5% and his approval ratings were below 40%. Yet we keep hearing about what a great leader and hero he was. Pffft. You wingnuts are hard to take seriously, but keep on going, don't let facts and reality get in the way of a good rant you can cut and paste in...

Keep talking and we will see what happens in November. I truly appreciate you left wing socialists continuing to do the same thing over and over and I hope you continue because it is serving a great purpose. Keep drinking the socialist kool aid.

@ Rita - Don't you just hate how facts have such a liberal bias.
