Pleasanton police arrested a 22-year-old San Ramon man yesterday for child molestation of a young girl from the time she was 6 years old until she was 9.

I’m confused by this story. It states that the victim was molested until the time she was nine. Her current age is fifteen. The article also states the alleged offender is currently twenty-one years of age. That would mean he committed the acts between the age of twelve and fifteen. I am thinking this article might need review for a fact check.
By the way, I am not trying to minimize or discredit the allegation, just looking for a cleared report of the incident.

These kinds of incidents are very hard to prove, much less prosecute when there is a long time line involved. I hope these accusations are not true, but if they are, this guy was a minor at the time. Now he is a young adult.
How do the police find out the truth? If it is true, this guy may be a sicko and need some psychiatric help so he doesn't continue molesting others.
If it is not true, something is going on with this girl and she needs help!

I believe the girl is telling the truth. Other children may have also been molested by Turner. If so, please talk to your parents and tell them what happened. I would not be surprised to learn that the alleged perp has continued to molest other children.
Please, lets refrain from using words like "sicko" until we learn more about what happened.

As the article says: "This charge requires evidence of at least three acts of the crime over a time period of three or more months with a child who is 14 years old or younger."
I think it's safe to assume there was more evidence than the recollections of the alleged victim. It wouldn't surprise me if there was photographic, video or email evidence.

What happened to the post that had the links to the article in the contra costa time?
Before Emily updated the story to correctly state the man was 22 instead of 21, there were posts that seem to be gone. One of those posts had the link to the contra costa times article which correctly stated the man's age (22)

I am so glad this girl finally got her nerve up to speak to an adult. Bravo to the school counselor for obviously being caring enough for this girl to open up to. Now she can start her healing process!

If true I have a rusty pair of tin snips that can be used to cure his problem permanently...no need for a bunch of psycho babble BS therapy and then let him out early to repeat or worse...think San Diego in last week!

Cholo - he is a SICKO anyone that does that to a minor or an adult is called that name. He will always be a sex offender in the tri valley area or where ever he lives.

When people make stereotypes it's for a reason; and I believe that a lot of the stereotypes will keep a lot of people safe. This man is a sick person. He needs serious help because what he did is extremely sick and gross. Let's hope he doesn't have any sons or daughters or a wife that will have to be extremely ashamed of his DISGUSTING actions. But, that's my opinion, and sex offenders shouldn't be given a second chance ever.

What is wrong with the word "sicko"? if he is guilty? Cholo, and what does a Republican have to do with anything? We are talking about an alleged child molester. If he is guilty he is more than an sicko... Why don't you just pray for all victims and cut the political stuff. Bless all children.

Hate Crimes Bill, covered up in a Defense Appropriations Act, and at the same time, they refuse to protect the Military or Veterans, yes a Defense Appropriations Act with a Hate Crimes Bill slid into it excluding specific protection for military and vetrans who defend our country... I am with bob123......!!! How sad to bring politics into it. Pedophiles do not deserve rehab. I say lock them up forever without any comforts. Think about what it does to the victim for the rest of their life. Any less jail time is NOT FAIR.

I happen to know Robert Turner. It is amazing how so many people assume that the accuser is an "angel" and that he is a "sicko". How quickly we all jump on the side of any accuser without knowing ANY of the facts. Here are a few FACTS for you:
* Robert Turner is an Eagle Scout
* The accuser is a long-time acquaintance who told tales to her classmates who later shared them with a school counselor who then approached the girl
* there is no evidence other than her own recollections
* Robbie whole-heartedly denies these claims
* 2 days after Robbie was jailed for this the girl attempted suicide
* The girl has had issues with the need for attention for most of her life (diagnosed by a psychologist)
* Even though he was 12 - 15 when these alleged activities would have occurred they are attempting to try him as an adult
* The first judge who saw this case wanted to drop it and the D.A. had to find a different judge to hear the case.
* The accuser has changed her story multiple times - in writing.
Now none of this proves innocence or guilt - but I think we should remember that a person is innocent until proven guilty in this country - accept by all of us posting comments, right?
If Mr. Turner is found innocent or if the case is never even brought to trial - how many of you will post that he is an 'angel' and the accuser is a 'sicko'? And Mr. Turner will still have lost $35,000, his job and his reputation.
