So, how does one decide that of all the stores on Main Street, Pans on Fire is the one to break into?? I guess that since he tripped an alarm he didn't have insider knowledge that it would be easy to get into or would have a lot of cash on hand. I can't believe it would be a crime of opportunity at 4:20am.
Too bad the owner wasn't there taking advantage of her right to strap on a loaded weapon in her place of business. If Pleasantonians ventilated a few of these kinds of scumbags we'd all be better off.

As residents of Pleasanton we are entitled to know where he was from. Seems more and more articles are witholding important information to it's community and the people in it. Did a description of the couple found at Foothill high school a few weeks ago, ever been released or where they lived? Can't help with no info.

They are coming in on Bart most likely :) My cousins Van was stolen right in front of his house and the guys were from Richmond, guess they thought they werent going to get caught back in Richmond STUPID!

Jenny- you will notice it said Pleasanton man- I am troubled by people assuming it is someone off the Bart. There is a very elitist personality that comes from this town. We are all the same people- good and bad in all communities. We just hide it better here in Pleasanton.

Arroyo: He is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, regardless of his admission. It may turn out that he gave the statement under duress, is insane, etc., so the parlance in an article is always "alleged" until he's actually convicted in court and the judge swings the gavel.

Thanks Tim - good stuff.
I wonder if a guy who has a smoking gun in his hand, standing over a victim, with a police officer as a witness to the killing, would still be reported as the "alleged" shooter? (Just playing devil's advocate.)

"Mao, a resident of the Downtown neighborhood
Why can't we put a great wall around Pleasanton and keep all of these undesirables out. Same for cur through traffic."
Please build your wall, after you complete it your city can stop taking the county and state tax money, once your wall is built you can have your empty store fronts all to yourself, build your wall and keep all of the "cut through traffic" out, we will take our money out too. I bet I spend more money in P-town then you do.
Until your wall is built, I will drive wherever and whenever I choose, you "keep the cut through traffic out" people kill me, how did that workout for you when they timed the stoplights to "keep the cut through down" need help with your wall?

Wow, why didn't I think of that? Check out the earlier thread about dog owners who allow their dogs to poop all over every else's property and do not clean it up. I had been thinking that those thoughless jerks lived in Pleasantown. How foolish of me! Of course, the idiot walking the dog that dumped all over my sidewalk this morning was a cut-through from Livermore or Tracy or (gasp) maybe even Stockton!

The article clearly says "Pleasanton man." That means he lives in Pleasanton. Come on people. It says "alleged" because that is what the press has to say. Despite his confession that have to say alleged until he is convicted. Come on bloggers.
And congrats to PPD! Once again they clear a good case (actually three cases) and find the bad guy. We're lucky to have them.

Yes, build a wall to keep the 19 yr. old Pleasanton man alleged of burglarizing Pans on Fire in Pleasanton and to keep the bigots of Pleasanton together and out of the neighborhoods. Perhaps it should be around downtown so the only shops that will survive can have the burglars and put all those who think "never in Pleasanton" and "must be Bart" and leave the rest of us alone.

Whoever wants the wall - would that be like the Berlin Wall?
Where did that stupid term of cut-through traffic come from to begin with, (a mayor, perhaps? ) When I drive home from working San Francisco, am I part of the cut-through traffic going throug Hayward? Do they get upset? NO. And when did city streets in any city just belong to that city? or is Pleasanton just trying to be "special". Cut-through traffic is what we all do every day when it comes down to it. The issue here is that every city, Pleasanton included, has good and bad folks, good and bad parenting and unfortunatley the worst is showing it's self more in a batch right now. Good job to our police officers!

god save you all should something serious happen in your town
Objective outsider - you just do not get it. Something very serious IS happening in our town: Someone wants to build 51 --- that is FIFTY ONE ---- new houses in our town. We can't have that. With all the traffic and new people and dog crap 51 more homes will create, we WILL look like Chicago, New York, DC, and then what are we suposed to do????
Posted by objective outsider, a resident of another community, on Mar 5, 2010 at 2:07 am
51 NEW HOMES! OMG!
expansion is human nature
what those 51 new homes mean is that your city is growing. growth is good. your local businesses will bring more money. your community will become more cultural. and over all it should raise your property values
even then thats only 51 familys that join your community
what about someone building a 20 story high rise with over 500 livable units and office space with business locations underneath
an everyday occurance in any of the cities listed prior
Posted by objective outsider, a resident of another community, on Mar 5, 2010 at 2:30 am
and as far as traffic goes
YOU PEOPLE LIVE HERE!
use the back roads and short cuts. the people passing through will use the standard routs
and traffic means people see whats in your town. what kind of food you have, where you can get gas, and other places to spend $$$$$$$$
if some guys dog craps on your lawn then put up a sign. they make really nice signs of a dog crapping with a red circle and bar through it that would fit very well with some lawn gnomes and plastic flamingos.

Wow all of you need to get a life. yeah pleasanton has its problems but come on building walls to keep people out, talking about dog crap on lawns, and how were buliding more homes, those are the least of our problems. I used to live in pleasanton until about a year ago and now i work at Pans on Fire. there was nothing my boss could have done to keep that guy out of her store. we are lucky that the PPD were so close and were able to catch him.

no body with a right mind gives a flying F*** about this ridiculous town. everyone that visits this town hates the people here because the majority of them have attitudes that are seriously under]sireable, stuck up bigots with jugdemental mentalities. so what... pans on fire got broken into...good F*** that place. theres worse things out there going on. be glad this is all you have to hear about happening in this pathetic useless town. all the pleasanton stores should be raviged. then it will give the PD something to really do rather then prey on people doing nothing because the cops here have thumbs up their asses and bored looks on their face. what if this boy was forced to do this and admited to something he didnt do. all you pleasanton folk should be ashamed.and go F*** yourself.
