College Acquaintance: "Obama was a "PURE Marxist/Socialist" (i.e. Communist)...

Original post made by Elaine on Feb 17, 2010

"He viewed America as the enemy," according to this Occidental College acquaintence.

If you only listen to one audioclip this month, listen to this. (Don't wait for Katie Couric or other MSM media to report this, either.) >>> Web Link

(To our local Pleasanton democrats who voted for Obama, I'd be very interested to hear your thoughts after you listen to this interview.)

I did not vote for Obama, nor am I satisfied with the job he is currently doing, but even I think this is a stretch. First of all, I question the credibility of a college aquaintance. Secondly, how many people have held to the same views they did in college as they've gone through life - I surely don't hold the same view of government or corporations that I did in college. So when listening to the interview, keep an open mind and think critically when forming an opinion about what it means, and more importantly, how it relates to today.

Link's not working, but Breitbart is considered a right wing lunatic. Can't imagine there's anything of value there. He's the one who has James O'Keefe, the famous Acorn pimp on his pay-role, but denied any role in the charade. The same James O'Keefe who was then arrested, along with some interesting friends for messing with Landreiu's office phones. I'd put him in the same category with Rush, Beck, etc. They're just trouble makers.

I do not blieve anyone with a brain needs a friends of Obama's to say he is a Socialist as it is obvious. The guy is completely incompetent and is downright clueless. He is not even as bright as Jimmy Carter. When Carter saw something was not working he changed courses, not well, but was bright enough to see it was not working. Obama does not know something is not working so pushes it even harder and honestly just makes himself look more clueless.

@ Elaine - please educate me, I honestly want to know, what destructive impacts have the Democrats had on America's economy and civil society? What programs or laws have they alone passed had this alledged impact?

Thank you in advance for the input.

I thought it was common knowledge that Obama is a Marxist. Obama was raised on the mother's milk of Socialism. Both his parents were card-carrying Marxists. Obama's grandfather was a close friend of Communist Party member Frank Marshall Davis. Obama was mentored as a child by this Communist Frank Marshall Davis.

Obama did everything Saul Alinsky prescribed. He went to Chicago, home of Alinsky and the place where Davis had worked for the Communist revolution. Obama trained at the Industrial Areas Foundation, an Alinsky training institute. He organized in Chicago and did voter registration and training for ACORN. He went to law school. Obama was ACORN's lead attorney. He kept a tight lock on his records and his past.

Barack Obama entered electoral politics as a member of a radical marxist group - The New Party - aimed at gaining control of the Democratic Party in order to implement a hardline version of socialism in America. The New Party was a radical left organization, established in 1992, to amalgamate far left groups and push the United States into socialism by forcing the Democratic Party to the left. You can google and find a photo of Obama on the cover of the New Party newsletter, welcoming him.

And one need only look at the string of socialists, marxists, communists, and communist-sympathisers that Obama has appointed to the White House. Obama even allowed photos of the murdurous communist dictator - Mao - on Christmas ornaments on the White House Christmas tree. Google it. The fact that Mao murdered 50-75 million innocent people cannot penetrate the hip-left mindset.

There are plenty of videos on You Tube of Obama disrespecting our Constitution claiming that it did not provide for Redistribution of Wealth. No American President disrespects our constitution!

Dear Curious,
You must not be that "curious" if you choose not to see what is happening all around you and all around America regarding what destructive policies the Dems are responsible for.

Oh...let's see...

- Reducing our national defense
- Declaring a WAR on the private sector
- Increasing govt and producing more economy-choking regulatory controls
- Increasing socialism
- Reducing our energy independence
- Reducing the American culture and allowing other cultures (like Islamic Sharia Law) to permeate our society
- Providing more rights and protection for terrorists
- Supporting a "Safe School Czar" who is a clear deviant who indoctrinates our kids
- The enviro-nazis (e.g. Rachael Carson, author of "Silent Spring") have killed millions of people...mostly children... thru their warped agenda using unscientific data
- Making more and more people dependent on govt welfare ...example >>> Web Link

WAKE UP!!!

Now you're just laughable.
"Reducing our energy independence?"
"Reducing American culture?" - WHAT does that even mean?
"Declaring war on the private sector?"
"Reducing our national defense?"
You sound absolutely ridiculous. Such a troll. If you and Pleasanton Mom aren't the same person, I at least hope you represent a small percentage of the conservative movement out there, or our country is in deep trouble - and it's not from Obama.
The best part is, as his presidency progresses and we see more successes from his policies, we will ALL be able to see who is right. So far, with improvements in the economy, movement toward diversity in energy production, successes in Afghanistan, and withdrawal of troops from Iraq, I'd say you guys look like the big destructors - of the truth.

Everything the guy touches is a disaster. Now he is having difficulty holding his own party together. They do not want him to campaign for them because it is the kiss of death (Virginia, New Jersey, Mass etc.). No I believe the "hope and change" thing should be more like "rope a dope". I am so happy that the liberals were not able to get anything done during his first year which could have been dangerous. I actually think that Obama, Reid, and Princess have been very good for america. In that I mean that it has woken up the conservative movement and added the independent voters to their mix. Can hardly wait for the November elections.

@ Elaine- Thanks for the cheap insults. I was simply asking you to provide evidence of your claims. Then you opened your post with an insult. As to your list of supposed Democrat shortcomings, you did not provide any evidence to support your wild claims.

- Reducing our national defense - How? Please cite an example. The Admin has increased funding for the WOT and troop levels in Afganistan. More funds have been channeled towards domestic security through the Stimulus Bill.

- Declaring a WAR on the private sector - How? Please cite an example. The Admin passed the Stimulus Bill that provided tax cuts to small businesses, created jobs in the public and private sector, and funneled money into the State's coffers.

- Increasing govt and producing more economy-choking regulatory controls - Again, how? Please cite an example. What laws have been passed or economy-chocking controls have been put into place? Do you mean the safeguards put into place to ensure against another meltdown of the financial services market?

- Increasing socialism - How? Please cite an example. So the Admin bailed out a few banks and GM/Chysler. Did you know that most of the bail-out money to the banks has been paid back...with interest!!! Do you really think it would have been in the best interest of the country to let GM and Chrysler fail? Do you know how many people would have been on the streets not just from those 2 companies, but from the thousands of suppliers that feed into them. Besides, this Admin really cannot take credit for the auto bail-out, those wheels (pun intended) were put into motion by the previous Admin.

- Reducing our energy independence - How? Please cite an example. The Stimulus Bill specifically allocated resources towards building alternative energy resources. Wind, solar, and geo-thermal projects have been fast tracked under this Admin.

- Reducing the American culture and allowing other cultures (like Islamic Sharia Law) to permeate our society - How? Please cite an example. There may be communities in this country, and there always have been communities in this country, that tend to "police themselves". This Admin or any other Admin will enforce the laws of this land, but they cannot necessarily interfere with how a particular community conducts itself unless said community violates local, state, or federal law.

- Providing more rights and protection for terrorists - How? Please cite an example. Terrorists captured on American soil (Underwear Bomber, etc.) have received the same due process and rights as terrorists captured on US soil during the previous Admin (Shoe Bomber). Terrorists captured in Iraq/Afganistan have been treated similarly by this Admin and the previous Admin.

- Supporting a "Safe School Czar" who is a clear deviant who indoctrinates our kids - This is an old canard that has been debunked repeatedly by various sources. Check Snopes.com for the latest.

- The enviro-nazis (e.g. Rachael Carson, author of "Silent Spring") have killed millions of people...mostly children... thru their warped agenda using unscientific data - Huh? Please cite some evidence for this claim.

- Making more and more people dependent on govt welfare ...example >>> Web Link
- Your own link doesn't even support your claim. Do you realize that the most stringent welfare reform occured under Clinton? Democrats do not want people on welfare any more than Republicans want people on welfare, but both parties have treated welfare like the political third rail that it is. At least Democrats have tried to reform it.

I'm plenty awake by the way. I also can educate myself from many forms of media, not just right wing propaganda sites like WND, RedState, or Powerline. I noticed that your list was a cut/paste from PL.

Yes, the most dramatic welfare reform was under Clinton, despite his efforts to stop it. It was the republican congress that pushed this reform.

Elaine,

Since you and I are not one in the same person, I will say thank you for standing up and fighting for our country. You "get it".

Glenn Beck's analogy of the Titanic today was amazing. When the ship started taking on water, the Captain told the people there wassn't a problem. Many people went back to their State Rooms and went back to sleep. But others started looking for anything that would float.

And when those who went back to sleep FINALLY realized the ship was skinking, those who got the lifeboats ready welcomed them into the boats - those who made fun of them and called them crazy.

I have tried so hard not to shame or blame anyone. The whole country was duped by the Master of Deceit. Marxists know they HAVE TO LIE because Americans will never knowingly vote for Socialism. They have to be tricked into it.

"The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of 'liberalism' they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened."

-Norman Thomas (1884-1968) six-time U.S. Presidential candidate for the Socialist Party of America

"I no longer need to run as a Presidential Candidate for the Socialist Party. The Democratic Party has adopted our platform."

- Norman Thomas (1944)

Elaine, please keep trying to help people understand even though they attack you. I will keep trying too. I have to, I have to protect my children's future.

Ha ha,

You haven't watched Glenn Beck. You are only listening to the people who hate him because he's exposing the truth about the Progressive Agenda.

If you watch Beck, and get to know his heart, you will understand and be thankful that there is someone willing to work so hard to protect your future.

It was Beck who exposed that Obama hired a Communist into the White House (Van Jones). It was Beck who exposed that Obama's Communications Director (Anita Dunn) is a Mao admirer. It was Beck who exposed the White House taking control of private computers used by Car Dealerships during the Cash for Clunkers disaster. This list goes on and on and on.

Obama has been exposed for the liar that he is. Even the liberal Air America (before it went out of business) referred to Obama as a "Charming Liar". Even the liberal New York Times finally published an article about the sinister lies in Obamacare. "You can keep your current insurance" - yeah right - just right up until it is run out of business by the Government.

You really have to look at the person's agenda (what they stand to gain) before you decide who to trust. Glenn Beck is not trying to impose Socialism on America, he is not taking over our car companies, our healthcare industry, our student loan industry, etc. The only people who benefit from Socialism are the Ruling Elites (Obama and his accomplices). The population lives in misery. My God, just look at Cuba and Venezuela. So who are you going to trust? I trust those who are not in power, and have no power to gain.

I do watch Glenn Beck. So you are again wrong.

@ Elaine - I'm sorry you have to resort to name calling and insults to defend your opinions and claims. I simply asked for examples and evidence to support your ideas, but what I got in return was the same old, tired, shoutdown the right wing of this country considers an effective debate tactic.

The one claim you did refute was expertly derailed by Ha Ha. Do you have anything else constructive to add to the discussion? If not, bye, bye.

@ PM - It is really hard to take Glenn Beck seriously. The amount of time he spends crying on his show is laughable. He sees conspiracies in everything. Did you see the show where he "exposed" the evil Communist/Marxist/Socialist (he doesn't differentiate between these concepts although there are distinct differences in the philosophies)messages in the Rockefeller Plaza artwork? He was convinced the artwork was put there to subliminally program the people. That to me is just plain loony tunes.

Beck, Hannity, and O'Reilly have all admitted they are "entertainers", not reporters or experts on anything. They are paid to entertain and sell advertising.

Why are you so against socialism or social programs? There are many democratic socialist countries in the world with a higher quality of life than the United States. Denmark, Sweden, The Netherlands, and Belgium to name a few. These countries have a higher life expectancy, lower crime rates, higher test scores, etc. The people in those countries do not report that the government controls or interferes in their lives. They have security in knowing that they are part of a community that provides for the common good whether it is through police, fire, health, or transportation needs. Do you know that in Denmark, moms get up to one year of paid maternity leave? As a parent, wouldn't you love to spend a full year with your newborn before having to worry about daycare? Then when you are ready to send your kids to daycare or preschool, there is a nationalized day care system in place. No worries about waiting lists, high costs, etc. Sounds pretty good, but then again it exists in an "evil" socialist state.

Why are you so against socialism or social programs? There are many democratic socialist countries in the world with a higher quality of life than the United States. Denmark, Sweden, The Netherlands, and Belgium to name a few. These countries have a higher life expectancy, lower crime rates, higher test scores, etc.

BECAUSE THIS IS A FREE COUNTRY!

We have a Constitution, and the things you are describing as wonderful about social democracies in Western Europe are unconstitutional and unwanted by the American people. It is that simple. What Beck illustrates, at times in a dramatic way I will admit (and so does he), is that we have been moved for years and years towards socialism, and the fallacies of it.
I will not keep trying to address all of the individual issues brought up here. The wannabe socialists are free to leave this country and live in their idea of utopia. I am taking my country back, you cannot have it.

Ah, gee! Yet President Obama is accused of being a socialist for meddling with the free market system?

And for Pleasanton Mom's statement:

"Glenn Beck's analogy of the Titanic today was amazing. When the ship started taking on water, the Captain told the people there wassn't a problem. Many people went back to their State Rooms and went back to sleep. But others started looking for anything that would float. "

how about this? Isn't this a bit like the Captain telling the people to go back to their cabins?

"The economy is growing, productivity is high, trade is up, people are working. It's not as good as we'd like, but -- and to the extent that we find weakness, we'll move." --George W. Bush, Washington, D.C., July 15, 2008

Oh Jim...
It's not your country. You have to share it with people who have different political philosophies than you. That is in our beloved Constitution.
Now, the fact that neither Obama nor his supporters are socialist aside (and it is a fact, they are not), that you don't like the current administration or it's policies can be remedied in the next election, if the votes of your fellow citizens so determine. That's what you get to do. You get to vote again when the time comes up. Any other method of "taking back" your country is highly unconstitutional.

Posted by Curious, a resident of Del Prado
on Feb 19, 2010 at 2:00 pm

@ Jim- You screan "THIS IS A FREE COUNTRY", infering that the democratic socialist countries of Western Europe are not. I think the residents of those countries would beg to differ. They hold elections and are free to shape their societies and governments as they see fit.

"and the things you are describing as wonderful about social democracies in Western Europe are unconstitutional and unwanted by the American people" - So you really do not want to pool resources to deliver social services to the community like fire protection, police, libraries, schools, parks, roads, healthcare, bridges, trains, buses, airports, unemployment benefits, Social Security, and other "social" programs and infrastructure? Are you proposing you will pay for those items as an individual? How would that work? Frankly, I don't think you could go too long without using one of those "evil" social programs like streets, bridges, or highways. but hey, more power to you.

I detect so much anger and hate and selfishness from those on the right and these posts continue to reinforce my belief that so many on the right side of the political divide are of an attitude of "I've got mine, I don't care about the rest of you". That is such a sad way to live your life. I hope some day you understand that we are all in this journey called life together and it is much easier and more exciting to experience it as a community rather than as an individual.

@ Janna - take heart that there are a few of us in Pleasanton that care, respect, and work to improve our community. We are not all in it to fulfill our selfish needs at the expense of others.

I hope some day you will join us, and the worrrllldd will live as one

When you vote for more and more tax increases to fund more and more social programs, then you are doing exactly what you accuse the hateful conservatives of - fulfilling your selfish needs at the expense of others.
The question is not whether we pay fire and police etc, the question is how far do we go with this? Soon enough, we do arrive at socialism. Some think we are closer than others are willing to believe or perhaps willing to admit what they know to be true.

As the great Ms Thatcher said, "The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money [to spend]."

We never asked for anything, nor expected anything from anyone. And we certainly did not do it "at the expense of others". What the hell kind of CRAP is that? We've been successful DESPITE the Government punishing us. And our success has helped others, not hurt others. Our success has meant JOBS for others!!!

P-Mom (scares the heck out of me that we are neighbors)- even the roads you drive on to that job of yours where you did everything yourself without help from anyone were paid for through taxes (a contribution by many, including those other than yourself). To feel that every speck of your good fortune in life was self made is narcissism at it's worst and a dangerous form of denial.

There are many people living in our city who have been every bit as diligent as you and are now in a position to need assistance with covering health care expenses, buying food, paying rent. They didn't squander their savings - they had their lives interrupted (my own aunt was in a head on collision and her family is now destitute, trying to pay for therapies that her insurance will no longer cover).

Finally, I can only imagine what a "college acquaintance" would say about you.

Posted by Rat Turd, a resident of Another Pleasanton neighborhood

You do not need to be a former college acquaintance to realize that Obama is a socialist. Not only is he a socialist he is incompetent one at that and we will pay the price for his complete inability to deliver on the things which will assist us going forward. The american people do not want his healthcare idea but he does not care. He thinks we are stupid and he will give us what he believes we want. Well guess what? Come next November when we go to vote he is going to see how stupid we are and he is in for a rude awakening.

Posted by Pleasanton Mom, a resident of Birdland

Sharon,

Every speck of my good fortune has come from God. The ONLY credit I give to Government goes to our Founding Fathers who created the God-guided Constitution - the document that enables prosperity for everyone lucky enough to live in America.

Incredibly, that document is considered "flawed" by our Socialist president. The goal of the Progressives/Liberals is to disregard our Constitution, and replace Capitalism with socialism. No body EVER prospered under socialism. It's equal opportunity suffering for all.

Socialism is a destroyer of prosperity, jobs, the human desire to excel and succeed, the human desire to provide a better life for your children. It is a destroyer of our health and our very lives because the purpose of socialized healthcare is to deny and ration services.

Here is a good explanation of what Socialism is: Web Link

I'm perfectly fine with the Government helping those who have fallen on hard times. I wish that this socialist administration would ONLY that. But no, what we are getting is a HOSTILE GOVERNMENT TAKEOVER of our healthcare system that will effect every man, woman and child in this country in a negative way. The Socialists will destroy the greatest healthcare system in the world - that is what Socialists do - they destroy everything they touch.

Just look to Venezuela to see our future.

Please note that I have not attacked you personally in any way, I have not impuned your character, I have not expressed disdain that you are my neighbor, I have not questioned what your college associates would say about you.

Posted by Pleasanton Mom, a resident of Birdland
on Feb 25, 2010 at 7:48 am

Ha ha,

Obama's policies will destroy you. Put another way, you will not have the opportunity to create prosperity and a better life.

I don't want that to happen to anyone. That's why I'm doing everything I know how to do to help people see the truth.

Posted by Sharon, a resident of Birdland

P-Mom, is it your impression that the current system of reimbursement for health care does not require rationing? If so, you must be covered by a very unique plan. I am now paying much more for dramatically reduced coverage for my entire family.

In addition to God, I also give credit for my "good fortune" as you say to others who have guided me along the way and made a collective contribution to my education, whether formal or informal. Even the taxes that were paid in order to pave the roads, build the bridges (and, yes, supply food, medical care, etc. to those in need, regardless of whether others judge them unworthy) receive my eternal gratitude.
