Great coverage of a sport that does not receive a lot of visibility. I've been rowing since college (1976) and still row on a Masters level. Rowing is a wonderful sport that teaches great discipline that an individual carries forth into everything they do. Kudos to Veit and wishing her the best in her collegiate rowing....and future!

What a great article by Dennis Miller. I was thrilled to reach in to my mailbox and see a front page article about rowing. Congrats to Taylor Veit and best wishes at UCLA. The Bruins have become a very competitive program nationally over the last decade led by their coach and three time olympian, Amy Fuller. Like the previous poster I too rowed in college and later coached at Saint Mary's College in Moraga for the men's team. I can attest to the demands on a student athlete and from reading the article I have no doubt Veit will represent Pleasanton well. Thanks P-Town Weekly for highlighting a sport that rarely gets attention. And what great recognition for a student-athlete, Veit, who has the dedication to follow her passion.
