Ugly Dublin BART Parking Garage
Around Town, posted by Tim, a resident of the Another Pleasanton neighborhood neighborhood, on Mar 18, 2008 at 3:16 pm

I am amazed that Dublin thinks that the Bart Parking Garage they have allowed to be built is ugly. With all of the ugly stuff they have already built, its hard to believe they have found something "too ugly" for Dublin.

It would seem impossible to make that garage look anything but ugly.

Ya it does look super ugly but I wish it was open by now. I used Bart the other day to get to SF and wanted to be on the train by 11am. That was a huge mistake!!! I arrived at the station parking lot around 10:25am and couldn't find parking. Driving around for 25 mins I went to the Dublin side to see if there was anything over there- again nothing. It took me over an hour looking for parking, going back and forth a total of 4 times between Pleasanton and Dublin. I finally found a spot at 11:45am. Because of the horrible parking there I was extremley late for my outing in SF.

Maybe the new station isn't needed, as it is all of 45.789 seconds from the other one (not really but I would bet it's less than 2/3 mins) but a parking structure is needed. I wonder if Dublin would have thought it ugly if it was built back when Bart first came here. Maybe they should hire the person who painted the mural under the overpass to paint something about the Tri Valley on the huge cement garage. At least it can be seen as somewhat of a piece of art and not a metal storage center. Either way, I will be happy once it's open for when I need to park at Bart again in the mid morning.

Out of all the things to mad about or unhappy you are about to bitch about a building?!?!?!?! What is wrong with you people in this town? what happen to the good days when people werent so stuck up and stupid life didnt depend on what everone thinks and needing the newest cell phone and crap. Everybody in this town always has something to be upset about. They havent mowed there lawn, their fence is to high and blocking my view of their house or this building is so ugly. Like O MY GOD its the end of the world... AHHHHHHH everybody just live a lil and chill the freak out. Get up go outside take a walk, spend time with your family but stop this bitchin!!!!

Wow, I agree with you!

Wow - sounds like you are doing a lot more "bitchin" than I did. Looks like you are the one that needs to get control of yourself.

Not to be rude or anything, but saying that "people bitch to much about a building" or whatever your words were, is just stirring up the pot to get people aruging on this thread. No point in doing so.

But I have heard many people on the Pleasanton side say that it is an eyesore- the parking garage that is. If it is ugly, then we can just use it as a landmark for visiting family and friends; "take the next exit after the large orange and green parking garage."

What is the new grand opening date?

Have they announced the number of parking spots and how many are permit vs. "open"? Thanks.

What surprises me is that Dublin allowed Dublin Honda to build such an ugly dealership at Dougherty and Dublin Blvd. To me that dealership has done more to hurt Dublin than anything else of late.

it is very ugly on both sides. pleasantons side, dublins side. bart is ugly, and not wanted in my book. but is here, and that's america, not always liking what your government does, but respecting it. boo for the 2nd bart station within 1 mile. ugly and not desired by me
