Single Payer - Are California Democrats Completely Tone Deaf?

Original post made by Ribbit on Jan 22, 2010

Are California Democrats completely tone deaf on health care? I was flabbergasted to see the Sen. Mark Leno is once again introducing a bill to have a single-payer government health care system in California. It was approved 6-3 by the Senate Appropriations Committee in a straight party-line vote. The cost is $200 billion per year, approximately 2.5 times the current state budget. This action was taken just after Massachusetts voters turned over the U. S. Senate seat of Ted Kennedy (Mr. Universal Care) to a Republican and polls consistently show that 70% of Americans do not want single-payer government-run healthcare. Mr. Leno admitted he had not figured out how California would pay for the plan (one of those pesky details!). Considering the state has a very good chance of going bankrupt this year, it suggests that the Democrats in Sacramento are about as tone deaf and incompetent as politicians can possibly be.

Yup ! They ARE completely tone deaf. Some are deaf, others just plain lost their voices. Did you notice all the usual radical leftists that fill this space have gone silent ?? No comments in the only state that is as socialist as Mass....even tho Mass was 51 % Independents !!! CA is about to collapse from being a welfare STATE.
ALL CA $$ have been TRANSFERRED from producers to the NON-producers...instead of the intended capital improvements, roads, delta, water systems, bridges, taking money from everything for a decade to transfer to illegals and others chosen for receiving CA aid...and as always our PUBLIC UNION excesses. Now some think CA needs more of YOUR earnings to raise money for those accouts that they stole from....for the WELFARE STATE. CHOICES. Can't do it all.
Betterment of the state, OR, spending on people that don't meet their own needs. I'm NOT talking about RECENTLY unemployed...I'm talking of PERMAMENT non-providers and those that 'work the much too easy SYSTEM".

California is deaf, dumb and BLIND and Pleasanton/Tri Valley is the latest in the Nanny Cities gone WILD with stimulus spending. California is broke but they are hell bent on bending us over to rip our wallets from our pants to pay for the need that did not exsist before they created the programs. So it's now, create the social services and the people will come! Rather, the people will move here and suck us dry.

Do you suppose our elected politicians will really go for this??? Where will they get the funds to pay for such a program. Joe & Jane Taxpayer are already tapped out and if they put the squeeze on the corp's, they will pick up and leave the state...

I honestly don't believe most politicians are stupid enough to commit political suicide. I also don't believe a national plan will happen. Before Mass. happened, some Demo's were quietly backing away after hearing from their constitutes. Nancy and Harry don't look too happy these days...

Politicians do what's necessary to stay at the public trough...
