What is the best conservative, Christian family-values neighborhood in Pleasanton? Around Town, posted by BibleComesFirst, a resident of another community, on Jan 17, 2010 at 6:39 pm
I recently accepted a job in Pleasanton, and I’m moving here with my family from Oklahoma City. As a strong Christian conservative family, we are looking for a good quality neighborhood and would like some advice from the fine folks in this city. We would like to live in a neighborhood with the following characteristics:
• A neighborhood in close proximity to a variety of quality evangelical churches
• A neighborhood close to strip malls and chain restaurants (Pleasanton’s downtown looks cute, but may to too elitist for our taste)
• A neighborhood with a large number of trucks, SUVs, and minivans
• A neighborhood with a large number of Sarah Palin supporters (We just love her!)
• A neighborhood with large, multi-lane streets to accommodate quick auto travel (our family hates walking and public transportation)
·A neighborhood with only single-family homes, because apartments and condos only lead to crime

So now that you've attempted to insult anyone from the midwest, and Christians, is there anyone else you'd like to denigrate? The Irish? Catholics? Redheads? Jews? Come on you great big open-minded, compassionate liberal! We're waiting.

That sounds like all Pleasanton neighborhoods. You should feel right at home here!

Mmmm...Do I detect a 'hint' of sarcasm in your question? So you are criticizing all of the above qualities you mention.
Well...Calif in general is a great place to live if it weren't becoming so expensive with the increasing taxes that we must bare, thanks to the our democrat legislature.
But wait! I can see tax relief of Calif residents if you are anyone or more of the following ...
- a terrorist
- a pedophile
- an enviro-extremist
- a transgender
- a performing artist in the XXX trade
- an SEIU or teachers union thug
- an ACORN member
- an illegal
- a medical malpractice attorney
- a liberal newspaper editor or officer
I am sure there are other 'protected classes' that are being planned at upcoming democrat party meetings. "We must provide incentives for these people to locate and stay here," is the mantra of democrats.

Thanks for reminding everyone about the liberal free speech policy.
You only believe in free speech if you like it. If the speech doesn't agree with your view you want to shut it down. Liberals are the most closed minded people I have ever talked to. Thank God for independents in MA!

IF this is for real, and I doubt it....I'll just say this...Having had family reside in the fine state of Oklahoma for awhile, I'd just like to say this to you....you can't expect a "mini-Oklahoma-neighborhood" in the middle of an affluent west coast City! Ain't gonna happen! You should have checked out Pleasanton/California BEFORE you accepted the job! If downtown P-town is too elitist for you, you probably won't like it out here at all... California is "light-years" away from OK in every way - don't say you weren't warned :) Hopefully you will be open-minded and appreciate all the wonderful differences. I know I'd never go back!
