So is 1,291 a lot or not? How does it compare to last year? If it's up significantly, is there a cause? Is law enforcement stronger, or is the weak economy causing more stress for people?

Alcohol & drugs are more available during holidays...free!

The number is low for the Bay Area...more arrests will be made before and after the New Year.

There are tens of thousands of addicts in the Bay Area, this is a very small fraction of those that drive under the influence. Hopefully, more will be arrested and incarcerated. The public has a right to be safe.

Law enforcement agencies will be out there trying their best to protect us. Gracias/thank you.
