Hmmmm . . . . water damage, loss of revenue insurance, indefinite re-opening . . .. this place was great before the new owners bought it. They have no people skills at all and it is no longer a fun place to get a good meal, even though it never was authentic Hawaiian food.

I'm so sorry Richard! This is awful and could not of happened to a nicer family! I hope they are able to re-open soon!!!

Oh, so sorry to hear this. After I eat at your restaurant I feel healthier somehow. Your food is so yummy and fresh!

Couldn't happen to a nicer couple. We agree with "wondering"

I spoke with one of the employees from Mahalo and was told all of the employees were let go. Not for awhile, but fired. There was no mention of water damage or closing just for repairs.

I think they want to reinvent themselves.

Reinvention would be a good thing. With new owners! As long as they are not claiming insurance money for "water damages" then there is no scam, just not very great business or employee ethics. Business must be really bad for them to just completely close over the holidays, guess not many people want to spend lots of money to go to a restaurant and then be treated as if they were unwanted guests. Even though I always loved the food the owners treated everyone as if we were not good enough to eat there. Most servers were nice, if not always very competent, and it was just not worth the price to be treated like that.
