Why do people like the Oakland raiders? As a football team, they kind of suck.

I guess a true Raider fan(me include)is kinda like the owner of an old truck - The old truck has very little power, could use some new tires, doesn't go very fast, sometimes it leaves you somewhere, sometimes it gets you there and back, but with all its faults, you've had that old truck a long time and, even though it sucks, just can't let it go...:)

That's a good explanation. I guess there is a lot of tradition and history.

Raiders were once a great orginazation and one day will be back. They get a bad wrap with Raider fans being alcholics and criminals but thats not true for every raider fan. I like the fact that the raiders are here in oakland. It got great tradition but with these bad econmical times, they need a solution to stay in the bay area longer then 2013. And the cost to build a new stadium just for the raiders is pretty much out of the question. What I think the NFL should do is split a stadium with the 49ers. Just like the NY Giants and NY Jets do in the meadowlands. It makes perfect sense. And a dream location would be on treasure island. You could ferry in Fans from SF Piers and also from Jack London Square. It would be eye candy for TV stations to shoot and bring more tourist to SF and Oakland areas. But im not rich or powerful enough to make this happen. I just a dude at work killing time reading blogs from the Pleasanton Weekly.
