Thanks PW, you did a good thing today

Original post made by T.H., Pleasanton Meadows, on Oct 29, 2009

The PW has made a positive step in the right direction today in a possible attempt to get the forum once again pointed in the right direction. They deserve a thank you, so thank you. We have all noticed a certain person posting endless humor posts that have been offensive at times and never funny (in my humble opinion). Not sure if they pulled them because they were insulting to named local resident in one, or why they did it at all, but it was the right thing to do. I don't encourage editing in general of peoples thoughts but when it's only humor it's fine to remove. Thanks again PW, you seem to know this forum serves a needed purpose for locals to discuss local issues, and is not a joke. Good job.

SteveP is a registered user.

I'd like to thank the PW as well. I'm sure the 'prattle' poster can find another, more appropriate place to move his soapbox.

He has still posted today and they have not removed him from the masthead with his column. Keep hoping, we may yet get rid of that endless trash, but it has not happened thus far. Now if we could just get the weekly to stop allowing Claudette Mcdermott post her own free advertising, pretending it is of interest, then locking out unregistered comments. We need another good school tax issue to argue over.

you got it right - He posted three times today but all were removed as far as I can tell. I'm not claiming he is gone for good, it's pretty much impossible to rid the forum of anyone. I also assume the PW will continue to give him his P&T, where anyone else can post also, and more 'humor' will get stuck in the forum. I also am not sure why the three posts today were removed, although one insulted a very old man by name, claiming he was a transexual. They might have just not liked that and did this as a slap on the wrist for it. I think we should all just be happy about what the PW did today and feel we, as forum users, had a small victory today.

Transgender folks have enough to deal without a comic chiming in with the intent to harm.

How come somebody that is supposed to be funny thinks harming a very old man is cool?

Very very weird...very very weird indeed!

So Cholo, on Oct 27th on another thread about DK and his mindless rants you said "shut-up...jealous bugs...". Now you seem to think DK has done something wrong -- which is it?
Kendall is an egotistical and barely functional illiterate who thinks that his virtual diarrhea of the pen is amusing to all who read it. The Weekly gave him his opportunity to have a platform, without restraint, to spew his useless nonsense. He has published under the guise of the Weekly, therefore, the opinions and diatribes might as well have come from Jeb's desk. Why would any paper feel that they should be represented by someone like that?
Have any of you who feel this way sent an email to the editor about it? Perhaps they do not read or heed what has been posted here. I can only say that if they allow Kendall to continue to have his own byline on their forum they have chose to support his rants. Now that makes me wonder if there is really anyone home in the office at all.

What's their email? On the contact page I saw the phone number and address but I don't think they have the email on there, or I missed it.

TH, just click on the name of the person you wish to contact, a box will open up with the email format. Maybe if some people sent email to Jeb about this moron we could get the column off the site. I am not suggesting censorship to remove his postings under his name only, just the Weekly sponsored blog that he writes.
