Bee's Stay Away sign on Hopyard

Original post made by Jennifer on Sep 4, 2009

Has anyone seen this sign on Hopyard?

I take it means - there are bees in the area, stay away
or is it - bees stay away, you're not wanted here

Anyway, who would bother to make a sign?

So, the Bee sign with no meaning is still sitting at a busy intersection. Is there a reason the city is leaving it on the sidewalk?

So, a misplaced apostrophe and a lack of punctuation... sounds like an example for the next edition of the book "Eats, Shoots, and Leaves"

My son and I were wondering about this sign also. He thinks it is a mom's way of reasuring her child that may have been stung and is now frightened.

I saw the sign a week or so ago. I also saw an exterminator company spraying the lower traffic light mounted on the pole. I concluded that there was a bees nest there, and they were beign courteous & exercising concern in letting people know. Many posters to this Town Square blog should try to be the same. After all, that is what a Commuity is all about.

This has absolutely nothing to do with the "bee sign" but I saw an amusing sign along side a roadway near Mt. Shasta City. Someone had altered a "Report Drunk Drivers - Call 911" sign to read "Drunk Drivers - Call 911"...

The paint covering "Report" matched perfectly...
