AT&T 3rd Party Billing Crimes & Incidents, posted by Cindy, a resident of the Danbury Park neighborhood, on Aug 20, 2009 at 4:51 pm
Anyone out there using AT&T for a long distance carrier, beware. We received our bills and found erroneous charges from 3rd party services that we DID NOT authorize. When we called AT&T, they said they were allowed by law to bill 3rd party services to us from other companies that offer services not provided by them. We told them that we had never entered into any agreement with
1. Enhanced Services Billing Inc. - billed on behalf of:
UNITED COMM Link LLC
MYIPRODUCTS IMAIL
TOTAL ProtectionPlus
But when I called ISBI, they claim to never billed anything & that they were a billing clearinghouse and could nor would do anything to stop the illegal slamming.
2.ILD Teleservices - billed on behalf of
BIZZFINDERS.COM
When we called ILD, they agreed to credit our account, but shortly after that, called saying that they would send us a check. ILD said we had approved the service over a year ago as it was free, but failed to cancel before the year was up. Again, we told them, that we had no agreement with them, that we were being slammed & demanded that they cease and desist.
AT&T told us if we disputed the charges that they would issue us late fees that could result in our phones being shut off.
READ YOUR BILL
I've filed a complaint with the State Attorney General & the US Dept of Justice against AT&T, ILD Services and ESBI. Take Action if you have been slammed.

I’d like to assure you that ILD strongly condemns and does not participate in “cramming” which is the practice of placing unauthorized or misleading charges on a telephone bill. We process over 120 million transactions each year for buyers and merchants – that’s over a half of a billion dollars in purchases, and only a small fraction result in disputes and chargebacks, just like with credit cards. When there are disputes, ILD investigates these with its merchants and makes sure that credits are applied back to the phone bill, just like credit card company standards. ILD continually monitors complaint levels against the merchant who the bills through us, and if we find a merchant in violation of our policies, we have and will terminate their billing agreement. So, if you feel you have been crammed or charged without your consent, please let us know. Send an email to askild@ildmail.com or call us at (800) 953-7765.

yeah I had a bill from Bizzfinders -- called their customer service and they were very pleasant to me.. I listed to the recording of the third party and realized I just forgot that I ordered the service. I was given my web address and they designed a website for my business. I am keeping the service!
