Here is the problem with downtown pleasanton:

Not enough walking room. I think they should take a hint from many european counterparts.

1. Perm Close main street to motor traffic
2. Allow biz owners to extend their didning tables further into the street
3. Invite other vendors into the street (I.e.) street performers.

Pleasanton downtown is Boring with a capital B. and too expensive

I don't know about closing it. How about making it one lane, one way, and parking on one side only. Allow pedestrian traffic in the other half.

Has anyone noticed the restaurant sidewalk dining areas encroaching into the pedestrian space on the sidewalk?? There are parts where 2 people can't pass at the same time.. baby strollers, especially the side by side double strollers can't get between the fences and the trees. 3 wheel bikes and battery operated scooters for the disabled; forget it.

We've got a great downtown, but it certainly could be better!!
