Obama Fails

J.R. Dunn

The stimulus shares one major element with every other program this administration has come up with: they have all been tried before, and they have all failed. More

Work, Jobs, and Worth

Bruce Walker

The Left has long confused work, jobs, and worth. The Stimulus Package, the grand catastrophe, was intended to create and preserve jobs that could make America poorer, not richer More

President Obama's refusal to apologize to America's police sends a horrible message to black America. More

Black Market Judicial Philosophy

Mark J. Fitzgibbons

Some called it a confirmation conversion. At times during her confirmation hearings, Judge Sotomayor sounded as if she could have been Chief Justice John Roberts' sister. More

Skinned Cats and Tyrants

Joseph Ashby

As the old saying goes, there's more than one way to skin a cat. By the same token, there is more than one way to lose liberty. Specifically, liberty can be taken away or given away. More

The President's Warped Foreign Policy

Joel J. Sprayregen

If Obama rushed to judgment without knowing all the facts about an arrest in Cambridge, what does this tell us about the basis for his foreign policy pronouncements? More

Thinker:

I get the impression more and more that many Americans wanted to elect a black president, that is all (to convince themselves they are post-racial perhaps?)"

Obama's presidency be saved through failed initiatives?

Jonathan Schlackman

Obama's presidency is spiraling down. The more he attempts to implement previously failed initiatives (nationalized healthcare, immigration reform) as well as harmful new ones (Cap and Trade) instead of concentrating on unemployment and the economy, the more he continues to falter with the American people. But his failures may be just the thing that could save his presidency -- and even land him a second term.

We've seen this before. When Bill Clinton ascended to high office, he did so with a whirlwind of new, radical ideas: healthcare reform, gays in the military, the luxury tax. The first two failed to be implemented; the last was repealed following disastrous results. His failure as a leader and liberal reformer allowed Republicans to take control of both the Senate and the House following the next election cycle.

After this, Bill Clinton told the nation he "got the message". Caring more about his poll numbers than his efficacy, he laid low (more or less policy-wise) for the next 6 years, and it saved him. In time, he was even able to take credit for Republican successes like Welfare Reform, even claiming that the government was operating at a "surplus". Although his hedonistic tendencies (and hubris) proved to be his undoing as a moral exemplar of a president, his tenure in the White House is not looked upon with the disdain of his Democrat predecessor Jimmy Carter -- a complete disaster in every respect.

Obama is starting to experience the same sort of Clinton moment. How will he react once his initiatives fail to come to fruition? Will he, enjoying a cult of personality, lay low and eventually take the credit as hard working Americans utilize the free market to put the economy back on track? Or, as the supreme narcissist, double up his efforts to deny people their freedoms while trying to create an Obamatopian society ruled over by an elite government class?

I get the impression more and more that many Americans wanted to elect a black president, that is all (to convince themselves they are post-racial perhaps?). That was all the Hope and Change they ever really wanted. They did not vote for someone who is going to bring radical changes in how they live, conduct business, and take care of those they love.

Yes, on that last point. Millions of guilty white Americans voted for Obama in hopes of him granting them absolution for their racial sins, real or imagined. Instead, he gratuitously groin-kicked them last week. He is not the soothing, "clean, articulate", non-threatening, post-racial politician they thought they were electing. He's the angry, vengeful, racial rabble-rouser he revealed himself to be in his own Mein Kampf ("Dreams of my Father"). Now the mask is off. That alone guarantees he'll never be re-elected. The jilted liberal whiteys may not rise up against him, but they won't be turning out for him either.

At LEAST we truly know the thinking and values system, as well as style of communication of the conservatives! Web Sites such as thinker are way out of line! ( as evidensed on the Weekly Forums )

"Or, as the supreme narcissist, double up his efforts to deny people their freedoms while trying to create an Obamatopian society ruled over by an elite government class?"

Maybe you could answer that with another question. Did Bernie Madoff quit, until he was caught? Do serial killers quit, until someone stops them? Obama is a psychopath, in his mind, he is above all, everyone adores him, and he will keep going, until he is forced to stop. Let's just hope someone does, otherwise, he will go down, and take the entire country with him, and years down the road, people will say, gee, why did we let him get away with that?

Same Ol Jibberish! Can't the Radical Right Wing Conservatives come up with constructive topics and communication? They are only hurting their cause, as they become America's Poster Children for Irrational Radicals! At this rate, they will continue to be side lined by the majority of America!

Holly Cow! Read this article and especially the 112 COMMENTS!

There are thousands of Web Sites like the Thinker, where this stuff is being accepted as Gospel in Right Winger Land!

This is truly very upsetting and could become out of control to the point of race riots, and worse!
