Request for a Town Meeting with Jerry McNerney about Obama's Healthcare Plan State, National, International, posted by Concerned Pleasanton Resident, a resident of the Downtown neighborhood, on Jul 22, 2009 at 1:10 pm
If Obama's healthcare plan has not been adopted before the August recess of Congress, this is a very very strong request for Jerry McNerney to hold a Town Meeting about this healthcare plan soon after he returns from Washington.
Given the enormous gravity of this plan, Jerry McNerney needs to step up and answer a number of questions and concerns about this plan from his constituents. If he indeed "represents" us, he needs to hear from us in a forum which allows for the free flow of communication...and not thru his normal confined, highly scripted formats.
In addition, this is a strong request that Jerry McNerney use the Pleasanton Weekly to communicate his position on a number of features about this National Healthcare Plan. To NOT widely communicate via the Pleasanton Weekly and other media his position on this bill which will affect ALL of us (excluding himself and the rest of Congress), would be neglecting his role and responsibility to listen to and represent his constituents.
If you are in favor of Jerry McNerney conducting a public forum regarding National Healthcare, please reply to this posting and also let McNerney's office know.

I vote for NO TOWN HALL MEETING. NO TOWN HALL MEETING. All you want is an opportunity to BASH people that don't agree with you. Read the extreme right wing posts and you will stay home and NOT join in the Black Man Lynching. Yup...it's nothing more than a disguised Black Male Lynching.

Concerned Pleasanton Resident,
It’s funny how Richard Pombo hardly ever set foot in Pleasanton and that was just fine with most of you local Republicans. Jerry McNerney on the other hand, has consistently met with his constituents in Pleasanton and the Tri-Valley throughout his time in office. McNerney has gone above and beyond want is typically expected of public outreach by a member of congress. Please stop the petty nitpicking.

For those who feel a town hall meeting with your representaive is not important, then I would suggest you revisit your motive. HSB 3200 is so dangerous to our children, our seniors, our way of life and our country that it boggles the mind. It is ruthless-read it; or at least read the sections that dictate how we parent our children, how the seniors will be treated (pages 425,431,431 & 623)this means all of us over 65-note ultimately all of you will be over 65.
Of course, all who voted for the "obama change" are getting for what they wished. READ IT!

Why does the race card always have to be played? It is minorities that keep this nonsense going. All of the white people I know don't have a problem with other races it is the other races that have the problem with whites. That said, this is about your healthcare and mine. I work in the healthcare industry and yes the system is broken, but, Obama care is NOT the answer. Medicare, Medi-cal, Medicaide all are in jeopardy because the GOVERNMENT runs it.
Do you have Medi-Cal? Try it and see how you like it! See what kind of care you get.
WAKE UP PEOPLE. Jerry McNerney (as does our other representatives, democrats & republicans) have a lot of questions to answer to all of their constituents (Black, white, red or brown, green for all I care!) before this bill goes through and we all pay dearly for it.

This has nothing to do with race. This is about a bill that Mr. Obama is shoving through, allowing no time to read it. I have medicare because I am 67. I got his message lound and clear because I have read some of the bill. He would like all old people to die.
Mr. Mc Nerney and the other people who are paid by the tax payers of this state need to sit down and hear what we are saying. And I would be thrilled to have the same heath care that he and the president share. If it is so GOOD then it should be good enough for them also.

I have to go to a Town Hall Meeting! I signed up with a right wing extremist website that is trying to take over the world and our induction activity is to harrass a congressional member at a local town hall meeting. Any issue will do, but since this health care deal has such momentum, I want to do this one!
If I don't, I'll have to wait and attend a birther conference in November. I can't wait that long! I am too excited by the idea of being a member of what liberals think is a racist, hate mongering group of people that want to keep minorities down!
Forget running that business or taking care of my family. The masses of white people live for this other stuff!! We meet at local steak houses to think this stuff up as we clog our arteries.
If you have the rope, and Big Poppa the tree, I have the step stool and am willing to kick it out from underneath you! Just let me know!

Thanks for the feedback. How did you go about signing up? Did you just call into his office and ask about a town hall or a conference call or other? Did they ask you to give your questions in advance or will they allow you to ask when you call in (I am trying to understand how thousands can call in, potentially, and how we can hear one another/ask/answer questions)? I'm interested as well if that is all we'll get and if it is actually going to happen.
