Members of Congress Must Participate in Public Plan

July 16, 2009 (Washington, DC) – Today U.S. Congressman Dean Heller (R-NV) offered an amendment to the America’s Affordable Health Choices Act (H.R. 3200) during the House Ways and Means Committee markup that would require members of Congress enroll in the government-run healthcare program. This amendment was defeated by a vote of 21 to 18.

If it isn't attractive enough for those who are proposing the bill, then maybe they should be giving US what THEY have instead.

I've said it before... they don't hold themselves to the same work standard/hours as we do, so why would they deem the plan for the masses to be fit for them as well? Anything that will affect the voting population should have a "Me too" clause attached saying they will have to live/abide by it as well. Perhaps then they would give more thought to their actions

I find it interesting that congresspeople tend to say...."it's similar to ours". Similar doesn't cut it. How about all the MONEY in the same POOL ????
